Chapter 18
Waking up, I found myself trapping Ben to the bed. My head was on top of his bare chest, my arms hanging either side of him, while my body rested between his legs. His chest rose gently up and down with each breath. If I was absolutely frozen I could hear the soft beat of his heart.
Knowing there was no way of getting out of bed without waking him I closed my eyes again. Sleep quickly finding me as dreams of the water park filled and Ben my mind.
Ben was still beneath me when I woke up for the second time. This time it was to Laura calling both of our names. Flipping my head over on Ben's chest I found Laura's face right next to mine making me jump.
"Morning," she chirped happily once she noticed I was awake. Running her hand through her hair she sat on the bed across from ours.
"Morning. How long before we need to go?" I asked, my voice still heavy with sleep.
"An hour," Laura responded as she reclined back onto to her bed and picked up her book from the shared bedside table. Finally dragging myself out of bed, I grabbed the closest clothes I could find before stumbling my way to the bathroom.
Ben was still asleep by the time I returned so I shook him lightly on the shoulder. When he still refused to get up I jumped on top of his back but he didn't seem to mind that either. Giving up I left the room with Laura to find Jane and Georgia. Today the four of us were going to enjoy all the spa had to offer.
To get to the spa we had to walk through the aquarium which made me very happy. There were even some divers already in the tanks which took me back to my experience a couple of days ago. As soon as we entered the spa I felt more relaxed. The chitter-chatter from the hotel guests was blocked out by the rainforest sounds coming from the speaks. Behind the little reception desk was a small waterfall which only added to the calmness of the spa.
We were led through the same airy corridor with the two little rocky streams on either side of it and reached the pool, where Ben and I practised diving. Here, we were given time to relax firstly. Sitting along the bench in the pool we all sat and talked while soaking in the warm water.
I hadn't really spoken to Georgia much so it was a great chance to get to know her better. She was much the same as Laura, only a little more mature. Her sky blue eyes reminded me of Ben's but her blonde hair was that of her mothers.
Soon we were taken through to a room where four beds, coated in white towels, were set up. By each bed stood a man in uniform with their arms behind their backs. All looking very professional. We were each guided to our own bed where we were told to lie down face first. It was time for our massages. Once the hour was up, every single muscle in my body felt relaxed, all tension melting away.
Finally we were led through to a room much like the massage rooms. It had large windows, lining one wall which led out onto a balcony equipped with deck chairs and small tables, flowers hanging from the railings. Much like the rest of the hotel it offered an incredible sea view.
However, instead of their being beds in this room, small chairs for pedicures were lined up against the back wall. Tables for manicures were also dotted around the large room. A couple of ladies already sat at the back of the room having pedicures done. We all took seats across from masked ladies at the manicure stations.
Once deciding on a ocean blue which matched the blue of Ben's eyes the lady in front of my silently got to work. Sitting back in my chair I gazed out to the incredible view. The quiet sounds of the fake waves emitted from the speakers relaxing my body further from the previous massage.
Once the ladies had finished our nails we headed to the beach for lunch. We were only meeting up with the boys at dinner as they had decided to go play golf for the day. I knew Ben wasn't looking forward to the golfing part of the day but he did want to spend time with his father, so went along anyway.
Sipping at our large drinks we compared out nails, while we waited for our lunch to arrive. I had ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a tomato salad on the side. My mouth started watering when the plate was put down in front of me.
On the large plate was a tomato and mozzarella salad, drizzled with oil and balsamic vinegar, and sprinkled with fresh basil leaves. Next to the salad was two toasted white bread sandwiches piled high with grilled chicken, tomatoes, lettuce and bacon. A small cocktail stick was pierced through them to hold them together.
My hands were itching by my sides to get hold of the delicious sandwich in front of me while I waited for the others to be served. As soon as Georgia's food was placed in front of her I pounded and attacked the meal in front of me. It was delicious.
The rest of the afternoon was spent sun bathing on the beach. It was nice to have a quieter day after yesterday which had really tired me out. I was lying on my front reading my book and listening to my iPod when a heavy, very wet, weight fell onto my back. Screaming I tried to jump up but I couldn't against the weight on my back. Ripping my iPod from my ears I heard a familiar chuckle which calmed my heart beat down. Ben.
"Ben," I whined. However instead of responding he wrapped his arms around me and picked me up bridal style. Panic filled me as the ocean came closer. "Don't," I said as Ben just laughed, nearing the ocean. Gripping my arms tighter round his neck and wrapping my legs tightly round his waist, I continued to plead. There was no way I was letting him stay dry if he went through with this.
As his feet hit the water he continued until he was shin deep. "One," he taunted as he started swinging me. My grip loosened but I quickly clamped my hands together round the back of his neck.
"Two," he continued. His famous smirk prominent across his features. Bracing myself for the water I squeezed my eyes shut while further tightening my grip.
"Three!" And with they Ben threw himself and me into the deeper water soaking both of us. Ben chucking me into the water seemed to be becoming a theme on this holiday. However, the water was much warmer than I was expecting so I didn't really mind. I had been imagining the freezing waters of England.
As soon as my head broke the surface my eyes focused on my target before I splashed him in the face. Choking on the salty water slightly he dived towards me, pinning my arms to my sides. In one swift movement he lifted me out the water and threw me about a metre from him.
Laughing as I reached the surface again I swam back towards him, splashing him as I went.
"You made me wet," I pouted when I finally reached him. His smirk grew even more at my words and I realised the mistake I had made.
"Oh did I now?" He chuckled as he wrapped his hands round my waist. Shaking my head I pushed his shoulder playfully.
"I think I need to make you a little wetter," he grinned as he threw me into the water for the third time. This time instead of returning to the surface I swam underwater towards him. Gripping on his leg I tried to pull him under but he was just too strong. Giving up I jumped up and threw myself on top of him. This time knocking us both into the sea.
We continued playing about in the warm water until Ben pulled me into his arms, both out of breath. "Love you," he grinned. I could tell he still liked saying it just as much as I did.
"Love you too," I replied before kissing him on the lips. He held me up as we kissed because the water was too deep for me to reach the ground. Soon the kiss was deepened and Ben moaned into my mouth. Digging my nails into his back I pulled them down his back as I too moaned. His grip on me tightened as the sound escaped my lips.
When we finally broke apart, our foreheads together, we were both panting. Grinning I pressed my lips against his one last time. "We should probably head back," I said my voice coming out a lot quieter than expected. Ben just nodded, for once it seemed he was unable to speak.
Collapsing back onto the sand next to the rest of the girls, Ben squeezed onto my towel next to me. "Where are Matt and Bob?" I asked when I couldn't see the along the beach.
"Still playing golf," Ben said as he fiddled with my iPod. Passing one headphone to me and shoving the other in his ear as he chose a song.
"How come you came back early?" I asked as I turned to my side to face him. He was already facing my so slipped his arm round my waist.
"Bored," he shrugged as he kissed the top of my nose. Grinning at his small action I closed the small gap between our two bodies.
"Miss me too much?" I teased as I poked him on his bare chest. My eyes gazed into his, getting lost in the never ending blue pools.
"Pretty much," Ben said honestly. I couldn't hide my shock as he answered the question so truthfully. I was expecting a sarcastic response, like he would normally give. Leaning forward I pressed my lips against his, unable to stop the smile that spread across my mouth.
Once the other two returned we had a quick dinner before everyone apart from Bob and Jane headed to a local club, down the road from the hotel.
The queue wasn't too long and before we knew it we were in the jam packed room. Heading straight for the bar we grabbed our drinks before sitting down in a booth towards the back.
Wrapping his arm around me Ben kissed the side of my head before turning my chin with his finger and kissing my lips.
"Oh please stop," Laura begged causing the two of us to sit back up again. When I was kissing Ben I forgot where I was. It was just the two of us.
"Sorry," I smiled sheepishly before taking a sip of my drink. I wasn't sure what it was, Ben had ordered it for me, but it tasted nice.
"I'm not," Ben shrugged as he started to play with the end of my hair. Laura rolled her eyes at her brother.
"Yeah we know. You're so in love you can't help yourself," she teased. A smirk pulling at the corner of her lips. Ben just shrugged and agreed making Laura's smirk slip of her lips. Normally she would have gotten a reaction out of Ben.
"Want to go dance?" Ben whispered in my ear once we had finished our drinks. Nodding, I got up from my seat, and took his hand as he led me to the dance floor.
The temperature instantly increased as we entered the sea of moving bodies. Gripping onto Ben's shirt I moved to the beat of the song. My hands moved up his chest and around his neck as I continued to sway my hips.
A tap on my shoulder caused me to turn round. Expecting to see one of the others I was shocked when I was met by an unfamiliar face. Ben's grip on my waist tightened as his eyes landed on the stocky guy standing before me.
"Want to dance?" He slurred in an local accent. Frowning I started at him wondering if I had heard correctly. Ben's hands further tightened making me think I had.
"No thanks," I said politely. Just as I started to turn away again his hand gripped my shoulder again, more tightly this time, stopping me dead in his tracks. Annoyance flowed through my veins as I turned to look at him again.
"Come dance," he said slipping his sweaty hand into mine. Annoyance soon turned to anger. Trying to pull my hand from his I was unsuccessful. He tried to pull me through the crowd but with Ben's help I stood my ground.
Spinning back round to face us, his almost black eyes flashed with anger. "Listen mate, she said no." Ben's voice suddenly came from behind me. He had never sounded so threatening before and it was clear he was pissed.
"Just one dance," the guy continued. His accent was starting to get on my nerves, as I once again tried to pull my hand from his. Still not giving in he tried to pull me away again. I let out a little yelp as he tugged my arm so hard it felt like it was going to come out of its socket.
"You need to go," Ben growled as he shoved the man in the chest. This only caused him to pull on my arm harder. Wincing in pain I turned to Ben. I honestly didn't know what to do. Ben's eyes turned cold with anger as he saw my expression.
"She doesn't want to dance. Just go," he growled again. This time pushing himself between me and the man. All the while he made sure one hand was still on me.
Finally he snapped and before I could stop him his arm flew back before punching his straight in the nose. Blood instantly started spurting from his nostrils but the man didn't give up. His arm drew back to punch Ben but he was too quick and landed another punch.
With my hand finally free I slipped between Ben and this man. Ben instantly stopped and seemed to calm down when his eyes met mine. However, the other guy didn't seem to get the message because the next thing I knew I was on the floor, the force of the punch still causing my ears to ring.
Ben was beside me in a instant. Worry etched on to his face. "Shit. Are you okay Jenny?" He panicked as his bruised hands cupped my face. Tears formed in my eyes as the pain seemed to double. Wincing I nodded as I tried to push myself up. Quickly lifting himself up Ben pulled me to my feet and led me back to the booth. The other man realising his mistake had already disappeared into the crowd.
Sitting me down, anger flashed across his features. "I'll be right back okay?" He spat as he turned around and started marching back towards the crowd. Jumping up I sprinted after him, and grabbed his hand.
"Don't. He's not worth it," I said as I tried to pull him back to our booth. Anger was still flashing across his eyes. I had never seen him this angry before.
"But he did this to you," he cried as he gestured to my cheek.
"Just come sit down. Please," I begged using my best puppy dog eyes ever. I saw Ben's face soften at my expression as he slowly gave in to me.
"I hate you," he whined as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders. Laughing I gripped onto his arm.
"You love me really."
"Yeah. I do," he whispered so quietly I wasn't sure if I was meant to hear him. Kissing my bruised cheek so lightly I barely felt his lips, we sat down back at the table where we had to explain what just happened.
As we told the story Ben grew more and more tense. I gripped onto his hand trying to calm him down. However, I don't think it was very successful. Although, he never went back to find the man.
Not long after returning to the booth we left the club and walked back to the hotel. With my cheek still throbbing I wasn't in the mood to stay out. Ben made sure I was right next to him the whole time. After picking up an ice pack for my cheek at reception we returned to our rooms.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Ben asked for the millionth time as we clambered into bed.
"I'm sure," I said, still gripping the ice pack to my purple and blue cheek. The ice had really helped the pain but it still hurt to smile and talk. Chucking the ice pack on the table beside the bed I snuggled into Ben's body, sleep coming almost instantly.
