Hello everyone! It's been quite some time since our last story. This story is actually inspired by a composition I wrote in school... you know you're truly addicted when you can relate a composition to your one true pairing. 😂 In this story, Hanji and Levi are of the same age. :) Also, this story is written in Levi's point of view.
Now let's sit back, relax and enjoy the book!
♧ AoT does not belong to me, it belongs to Hajime-san and his wonderful crew. And I do not own anything in this book besides the cover of the story and the plot. ♧I sat down at the stone bench, patiently awaiting the brunette whom I have came to be fond of. We had bumped into each other earlier in the year. Since then, we spent our lunch breaks together and walked each other home, if both our schedules weren't tight.
Speaking of which, I watched as she ran down the steps and path, heading for the direction where I am at. She was waving from afar and had a big, contagious smile on her lips as always. Even though she doesn't know it, her presence always seem to brighten my mood, whatever I'm doing. And her smile. It just makes me really warm inside. I may seem that I don't welcome her presence, but I'm sure she knows she's welcomed.
"Good morning, Levi! Did you know that today, Mr Smith-"
"Wait, Hanji. Sit down and talk."
"No one has time for that! As I was saying..."
I ate my homemade sandwich as I listened to her chattering excitedly about her day so far. I was used to this routine, seeing her express her thoughts about the day to me. As I listened and made comments when necessary, she suddenly stopped and looked at me with bright, somehow suspiciously big brown puppy eyes.
"Levi... Can we play tag?"
I looked at her with a blank face, expecting her to burst out laughing and tell me it was just another one of her weird ways to make sure I was listening. But that moment didn't happen. Instead, she just started pouting and made baby noises, slowly irritating me.
"Fine, Hanji."
"Yay!"
She then unexpectedly hugged me. I stood rooted to the ground in shock, not expecting the hug to happen at all. Deep inside, my stomach were making backflips and I felt the urge to hug her back. I snapped out of it as I realised she was intentionally doing it.
"Levi, you're it!"
I growled in anger and proceeded to chase her around the campus in school.
Ever since that day, Hanji would ask me to play tag with her. Of course, there are days where Hanji or I didn't had the mood to. Instead, we would sit together on the bench, voicing our thoughts out to each other. We continued playing tag throughout the 6th grade. And I started getting bored.
As we went up to 7th grade, we were still great friends. However, my schedule was really tight. I barely had time for lunch breaks due to the assignments given to me. I became really engrossed with my work, putting Hanji aside and focusing on my assignments instead. I had a habit of not approaching anyone for help, even if I'm at the edge of ripping all my hair off. That led to me pulling all nighters. The meticulous part of me wanted to ensure my work is of par with my standards. And of course, all nighters had taken a toll on my body. I became grumpier and easily irritated. Leading to a fight between me and Hanji. A fight that made me regret.
