The Unexpected

Chapter 1

This day can't get any better.
I start off waking up in the morning to the wonderful smell of mom making breakfast.
"How did you sleep honey?"
"Good I guess."

"That's great. Come to the table and eat. After I ate, I got dressed,brushed my hair and teeth, got my shoes on and headed out the door to go out with my best friend, Hope.

I get a text from her,

Meet me at the mall.

When I get to the mall, I see Hope standing beside her car with her boyfriend, Jase.
They have been dating for a while now and me and Jase are good friends, but sometimes I wished I had a boyfriend as perfect as Hope's.

As we walk into the mall, I say to Hope, "So how has it been with you and Jase?"
"It's been really good actually. We just went out to dinner two days ago and went to the beach together."

"Well, that's good." I said.
"Oh, look at him Faith, he's cute you should go talk to him."

Hope has been trying to hook me up with somebody because she thinks it will be good for me and it would help get my mind off worrying about my dad. My dad has this really bad sickness and he's had to go to the hospital a couple times but he's been good for a while now.

"So how much longer will your dad be in the hospital?" Hope said.
"He should be coming out in 2 days actually, I'm so excited!" I said.
"Me too. But are you sure you've been okay tho?"
"Yeah I'm fine now knowing that he will be coming home soon."
"Good."

A few minutes later, I get a text from my mom saying,

Come to hospital. Something has happened.

"Hope, come on we have to leave right now."
"Why? What's wrong??"
"Something happened at the hospital and my mom said to get there now."
"Alright let's go." she said.

When we got to the hospital, mom was sitting in the room where my dad was. A bunch of people were in there actually. I was getting a little worried.

"Sweetheart. There's something I have to tell you..... your dad has passed away." mom said.
I immediately fell over on my dad in his hospital bed in instant tears.

"WHY??? WHY,HE WAS PERFECTLY FINE AND HE WAS GOING TO BE HOME IN 2 DAYS!!!!"

"Honey I know. His sickness just got carried away and it was just his time to go." My mom said in tears.

"NO NO NO THIS CANT BE HAPPENING! I HAD SO MUCH STUFF PLANNED I WANTED TO DO WITH HIM!" I said screaming and crying.

"I know darling but life just isn't that easy."
I ran out of the hospital and just sat in the bench just crying away all of the hope I had left. All of the happiness. Why can't I have a happily ever after  like everyone else does.

Why. WHY??

A little while later my mom finally came out and sat with me on the bench just holding me.
"We are going to get through this together." My mom said.

"Why does he have to die mom, he was the only dad I had and the only dad I ever will have."
"I know honey, but no living things live forever. Come on, let's get home."
