Long ago, deep below the ocean blue, there lay the kingdom of the mer-people. They were similar to humans, but instead they have tails.at the very center of the kingdom stood the mer-kings amazingly boss palace.inside lived the king and his daughters 6 to be exact. All the daughters were beautiful, but the youngest was the fairest of them all. The little mermaid loved to hear about the human world. She would spend many hours listening to her grandmothers stories about sailors and their huge ships, about busy towns and animals that walked on land.
" when you are fifteen you will be allowed to go to the surface of the sea, and see all these things for yourself." Said her father.
Year after year each had there fair share and was able to go to the surface and explore. At last the little mermaids birthday arrived . As she rose to the waters surface, she saw a large ship at anchor. Its decks we alive with men dancing and singing in rejoice of their grand princes birthday. It was the prices sixteenth birthday. She watched him late into the night . Than the ocean began to spin and twirl. A storm arrived , and the big ship was tossed from wave to wave. Suddenly, was thrown onto its side than began to sink. The little mermaid realized that the men were in danger, but it was so dark she couldn't see what was happening. As the ship plunged below the waves, the little mermaid spotted the body of the prince. She than swam to his side and caught a hold of him.
The little mermaid swam to the nearest shore. Than slipped back into the sea and waited.
Early the next morning, a group of young girls came out of a large white building by the beach to walk along the waters edge. Before long, one of the younger girls found the prince.she knelt beside him as he began to awake. How the little mermaids heart ached as the prince smiled up at the young girl. He though it was she, and not the little mermaid who had saved him. The littke mermaid felt so sad she went back home
Each day she grew more unhappy. She hadn't told anyone her secret. Than one day she told her grandmother. Soon every mermaid knew her secret. Luckily, one of the mer-foke said she knew where he lives, and was happy to show the little mermaid the way to his palace.after she had founded she went there every single day. She always hide in the shadows, she would get a perfect view of him looking over the balcony. Although she new he could never love her in return. She needed a pair of legs to truly love the prince.
One day she decided to got to witch. She asked for what the princess wanted she said " a pair or legs to dance and be with my prince." She said " very well but when you walk it will fell like as if you are walking on broken glass, and you have three days for him to fall in love with you." The little princess agreed thinking " how bad could it really feel?" The little mermaid returned to the surface but with legs. The witch was right it did feel like broken glass every step she took. When she met the price she felt no pain. The prince had invited her to play a game of soccer with his royal family for she had agreed.
The next day was the soccer game. For the princess had gotten injured and the only way for it to get healed was for her to return to the sea. For she had waited for the prince to fall asleep than slipped out for she had turn back into a mermaid. She was healed than her father had found her and granted her wish to being human and her and the prince lived happily ever after
