We're not human. We don't live easy lives like human beings do. Our blood is different. Our existence is difficult because of our blood and we won't ever be normal.
But we try. Living normally is our ultimate goal; though some can be deprived of the light. Darkness consumes their lives and their goals will become shrouded in a veil of pitch black. Death, spilt blood and broken minds will take them over. We will never be the same.
We are the supernatural side to life; werewolves and fox-shifters.
Welcome to our world.

{Collin's POV}
Collin yawned as the sun rose higher in the sky. Not happy. It's too early. He thought as he struggled to fully wake.
Today has a new moon. His change would occur tonight by the looks of it. Though to reach the night he would have to survive the day. Oh, how he could hate being a werewolf at times.
In the end, he sat up and started on his day.
{3rd Person POV}
Police cars race past and some reports of a hostage situation at a bank not far away were on the radio. People were in a hurry to get off the sidewalk.
Though, one young adult was just walking along calmly, making her way to her job interview. Days close to her transformation would wear her out quickly after a few hours.
Being a fox-shifter was troublesome at times. After all, she was alone in the world no matter if humans were close to her.
Danielle was alone but not for long.
Someone new was going to enter her life. But how would she know that?

{Collin's POV}
I could hear the police cars and smell smoke. Loud shots rang through the air like a knife cutting through melting butter. The putrid smoke wafted as an unwelcome scent in my sensitive nose. It isn't fire. It's smoke. There's something different about this smoke. I guess staying up late wasn't helpful on my senses. It takes a few minutes to work out what is different about it and then it clicks; gunpowder, guns, gunshots. Walking in the direction of the spot where the smoke is coming from, people bump into my shoulders and walk hurriedly in the opposite direction.
Another scent entered the assortment of cleaning products, humans, gunpowder, plastic, metal and many others, even fear. Yes, fear. The humans were drenched in the scent of fear. I spotted where this new scent was coming from. A young woman. Though more importantly, a Fox-shifter.
{Danielle's POV}
A werewolf was nearby. Their scent was on this footpath. I saw him; around my age maybe, a bit taller than me though. I was always one of the tall people. He took a few steps in my direction. My heart was racing. The last werewolf I encountered ended up trying to murder me for fun...
{Collin's POV}
I walked towards her. She stared back at me with a curious but wary gaze. As I came gradually closer she started to walk away. I went up to her and tapped her shoulder before she was out of reach.
Instantly she spun and stepped back poised as if I would attack her...
{Danielle's POV}
I felt a tap on my shoulder. Turning, I instinctively went into a defensive position. He had closed the difference between us and had innocently put his hands in easy view as if to mean no harm.
"Leave me be werewolf" I attempted to say in a confident voice.
"Calm down. I'm not going to hurt you" Came his reply.
"I was leaving anyway"
"So it isn't your first run-in with a werewolf..." He said in a state of thought.
"No. Now excuse me, I'm leaving." I turned away.
"Come to an eatery with me and tell me about yourself."
At that, I spun back to him and said a simple line,
"Really?"
