One day, Cindy and Josh decided to go on a camping trip to King Mountain. Cindy and Josh packed up all their things like food, clothes, and an ax for cutting fire wood, and a tent to sleep in. They put all their stuff in the back of their car and they were on their way to King Mountain. On their way there they saw big houses and a lot of birds. Josh checked the gas to see it was low it was. He looked at the signs to check if there was a gas station nearby. There was one but witch was 50 miles away. That was too far away. So Josh tried as hard as possible to get to that gas station. After ten minutes, he was about 10 miles away. Cindy said, We probley have to walk the rest  of the way and leave the car in a parking space.“So Josh said, okay, we better get there before dark.” They were on their way. “We’re finally about 4 miles away,” Cindy said. Cindy started to question weather it was going to get dark before they got to the camping grounds. Then Josh said, “There’s the gas station!” They filled their gas tank and got something to eat and used the bathroom before they left. They were just about to go then they saw a big bull moose and Josh was scared of moose. So Cindy said, “It’s going to get dark. Why can’t we just ask someone for a ride?” “Okay,” Josh said. Cindy asked this girl named Bella for a ride. She said, “Sure, I have plenty of time on my hands. Where do you guys have to go?” “Oh, about ten minutes up the road,” Josh answered. Cindy asked Bella if she knew where the Food Market was. Bella said, “Yeah I do.” “Okay, well that’s where we parked our car.” “Okay, so it’s going to be a piece of cake to get there.” “Yeah it will be easy to get there,” Cindy said. After they drove for a little while, Bella said, “There’s your stop.” Cindy and Josh thanked Bella for the ride.  They filled the car with gas and headed up the road. Two hours later they were at the camping grounds of King Mountain. At about 8:00 pm, they tried to set up their tent but it was dark and hard to see. However, they didn’t give up.

They didn’t have a flashlight but Josh had an idea. He said, “Let’s bang two rocks together to make sparks!”  That did not work. Then Cindy had an idea. She said, “Let’s rub two sticks together.” They found sticks in the woods, then grabbed two of them and started rubbing them together like they saw on TV. They tried but that didn’t work either. Then Josh and Cindy had an idea – the same idea! They ran to the car and looked for matches. Cindy said, “I found some matches!” So they rubbed a match from the match box against the rough part of the box, used the sticks they gathered, and made a warm fire.  They were happy that they had warmth and light since it was really dark and they still had to finish putting up the tent. After the tent was built, they layed down to rest. When they were off to sleep, they heard a noise in the woods.  Cindy asked, “Josh, can you go check the noise and see if there is something out there?” “Okay,” Josh sighed. He went outside and checked the camp area and looked into the woods. Suddenly, there was a disgusting smell and he saw an odd shape moving in the forest. Then he saw the shape was actually a bear! He went back into the tent, grabbed a few bullets, put them in the gun, and then went back outside. By the time he went out, he could not see the bear. It disappeared! He nervously went back to his tent and sleeping bag and fell asleep. Cindy was scared and had a hard time falling asleep. As she was trying to rest, Cindy heard something again so she went outside. The bear was back at the camp site. She screamed.  Josh woke up and grabbed his gun and shot but he missed and the bear ran back into the dark forest.

Cindy and Josh went back to bed in fear. Suddenly, Josh felt something by his side of the tent. Then, he felt the breath of the bear as moved the tent wall. He grabbed his gun and shot the bear through the tent. He went back to bed and woke up in the morning. He and Cindy took the bear and packed up everything. When they got home, Cindy sewed the hole in the tent so they wouldn’t have to buy another one. Josh cut open the bear, took out the meat and skinned it then hung it on the wall.
