"What was up with those girls at lunch?" I asked Victoria, laying on my bed. The school day was over, it was only 5, and I didn't want to go to bed yet.

"What do you mean?" Victoria asked, she looked just as bored as me.

"She said she could have me killed. Why? I barely know her."

"That's not an empty threat either. She has ex-boyfriends who will do anything to get her back. She's probably jealous you're stealing all the attention. And the funny thing is, the attention isn't dying down yet."

"She mentioned something about a Blood Moon?" I asked, I remembered the voice telling me to read the book one night before the blood moon.

"Oh ya! Um, how do I explain this. It happens every year, about two weeks after school starts. Students must be locked in their rooms."

"Can't school just start after the blood moon?" I asked.

"It doesn't matter, even if they started school in July. Two weeks after would be the Night of the Blood Moon," Victoria said, "it is a dangerous night. It's the one time students are allowed to have weapons. Things lurk in the hall, scratching on the walls, banging on the doors. The students get Saturday off just to help with the damage."

"That sounds," I paused, thinking of a word.  "Exciting." I said sarcastically.

"Ya, I'm terrified for you," Victoria said.

     "Why?"

"I'm also jealous of you. You don't know what goes through the halls, what evil lurks in this school, you don't know the truth."

"Okay, then tell me," I said, sitting up, I was on the edge of my bed. I eagerly awaited for her to speak again.

"You don't want to know, although, you knowing gives you a better chance of survival..." she looked as if she was debating in her head what to do, "you know what, how about I'll show what the creatures are."

     "How?"

"You, me, and Angelica on Thursday, a journey into the basement, deal?" She said.

I was thinking. The voices in my head were telling me to go into the basement, which I feel like I shouldn't. But! If the dream of mine with the fairies and such was real, Angelica and Victoria could be magical beings too, that would add protection. "Deal."

I went to the library after talking with Victoria, she stayed behind in the room, saying she had some sort of private stuff to take care of, I don't know. All I know is that she pulled a large suitcase out from behind the washer, it looked like it had glass bottles in it. Victoria didn't know I was watching her pull out the suitcase and open it.

I was searching through the library, maybe they had the book that I saw in my dream. I couldn't find anything! It was all autobiographies and biographies. Ugh! It was really frustrating. What made it even more infuriating was that all the books were written in a different language, it looked like the language that was on the food machine in the cafeteria.

"I didn't know you took an interest in biographies," a familiar male voice said.

I turn around to see David leaning against the side of the wall, he had a book tucked in between his arm and torso, his hands were in his pockets.

"I'm looking for a certain book, but I can't read this darn language!" I almost was at yelling point.

"Shhhhhh!" I heard multiple people say.

"I'm fluent in this language, almost everything written in this school is in Enrel. We should be getting textbooks soon, those will be written in Enrel as well. About 90% of this school knows little English and only speaks Enrel."

"Ya, but how am I going to learn Enrel before we get our textbooks?" I asked.

     "Easy answer," he said.

"Which would be..." my voice trailed off.

     "I'll be your tutor!"

     "Fine, when do we start,"

"Right now's fine, go sit at any table while I go grab some books for learning Enrel." David said.

I went and sat down at a table with no one else at the neighboring tables. It was quite far away, in a corner with a ton of other tables in front of it. The library was huge itself. The ceiling was a dome with paintings of almost anything. From dragons to Louis and Clark. The brown shag carpet was an interesting choice. The walls were white marble.

"Kind of far away..." David said, approaching the table.

"It's far away and quiet. Since almost everyone speaks in Enrel, I don't want others knowing I don't speak it."

We started with simple words: Cat, dog, apple, that kind of stuff. I memorized the words tree, cat, key, and we. That's about it.

The bell rang, signaling dinner. David told me to read one more line in Enrel. I put my finger under each letter as I said it. I looked up at David who was laughing at me, "You said 'red' wrong! It's Yesl."

"Yes-l?" I tried to pronounce it.

     "Yee-seal." He said.

     "Yes-seal?"

     "Yee-seal." he said again.

     "Yee-seal?" I tried.

"Good job!" He blinked. When I looked at him again, I nearly fell out of my chair. Something was wrong, something was terribly wrong. His-his eyes!

Maybe it a blood vessel ruptured? I thought, but when blood vessels rupture, does it change the color of the iris? Maybe, I should probably find out.

     "D-David..." I stuttered.

"Ya? What's wrong, you're as pale as a ghost!"

     "Your eye!" I said.

     "What's wrong with it?"

"The iris' in your eyes are blood red!" I said horrified.
