Horror Queen

Chapter 1

I woke up way too early on Saturday morning to my dog, Harley, barking. I grabbed the nearest object, which happened to be a remote, in case it was an intruder.
I slowly and quietly walked out my bedroom with the remote held like a bat. I looked into my living room and saw not an intruder, but my best friend Ghost, a.k.a. Devin Sola, bassist for Motionless In White.
Ghost saw my current position and started laughing at me. I walked farther onto my living room, laughing as well, and threw the remote on my coffee table.

"What the hell are you doing here so early?" I asked Ghost as I looked at the time. 9:30 am.

"The guys and I need someone to help with merch for warped because Kuza is already doing other shit. I suggested you because I know you don't really have a life." Gosh replied, smirking at me.

"Gee thanks. When do I have to be ready by, how long am I on tour, and will I be paid?"

"You need to be ready by next week. The whole tour, so a few months. And yes you will get paid. A bonus, you will be on our bus, so you will see Ricky 24/7."
"And how is that a bonus exactly? But deal." I asked with an eyebrow raised as I crossed my arms.
"Mist. I am your best friend. I know just by looking at you that you have a crush on someone. The way you acted is that you have a crush on someone in the band. I assume Ricky because he is more like a guy you would go after." Ghost replied smirking and crossing his arms as well.
"Damn. You know me too well." I said with a small giggle.
"I try. Now, how about we go meet the rest of the band? They are at Balz' house for a meeting."
"Sure. Just let me get dressed and do something with this mane I call hair." I said.
I walked back to my bedroom and decided to sort out my hair first. My hair is really long, it stops just before it reaches my butt. I've considered cutting it, but I'm too attached at this point. I brushed my hair and decided to attempt to put it in a messy bun. I say attempt because half the time my hair simply falls out. This time, my hair decided to cooperate, thankfully. I didn't put any makeup on because I don't usually wear it on weekends. As far as clothing, I just threw on a pair of ripped capris and an AC DC t-shirt.
I walked out of bedroom and grabbed my black vans and keys, telling Ghost I was ready. We both walked out of the house, locking up of course, and to Ghosts car.
The ride to Balz' was filled with music and talking about warped tour. I had never been before, but I had heard a few stories.
After about 20 minutes we arrived at Balz'. It was a cute one story house, white with black trim and a black door. Ghost simply walked in, unannounced as he always does, and I followed.
It's odd that I am Ghost's best friend, yet this is the first time I'm meeting the band. I understand they tour a lot, so they do t get much time off to spend with family, but I think Ghost is just selfish and wanted to keep me for himself.
The rest of the guys and Ryan-Ashley were sitting in the living room. Ghost sat down in the only available seat skin just stood there awkwardly.
"Guys, this is my friend Misty. She agreed to do merchant for us. Be nice. And do not flirt with her or sleep with her." Ghost said.
Laughed quietly and replied to his comment, "Ghost, I can sleep with whomever I choose and guys, you can flirt if you really want too."
The guys laughed at me and said hi. Then they got on to a more boring discussion about how this tour was going to go.
"We play at like 2 almost every day. We have a signing at the merchant tent at around 5 every day. Before and after that we can do whatever unless an interview comes up. Bus will be at my place first then we will come here for Balz and Ryan, Ghosts' for him, and I'm going to assume Misty will be there as well. Then Vinny and lastly Ricky. From there I think we are on the bus all day and the next until we reach Maryland. I don't know why the first show is there so don't ask. Any questions?" Chris said.
"Where am I sleeping?" I asked.
"I didn't think of that one. You will probably have to share a bunk. I'm assuming with Ghost. But you as you get to know us you can always switch who you sleep with. There will be a few nights in hotels along the way. When we stop you just need to tell us who you want to room with so we can get that sorted out when the time comes. Anything else?"
"Yeah. Can we eat something now?" Vinny asked.
I had to laugh at that. Then again, I was starving too. I haven't really eaten today and I was too busy to eat much yesterday for dinner.
"Yes we can go eat now. Where are we going though?" Chris asked.

"How about we let Mist here decide because she is new to the group?" Ghost asked quietly.

I really didn't like being put on the spot, even for simple questions like this. There is a reason I am the one asking questions and not answering them. Due to not having an answer, I just stood there, frozen.

Ghost laughed at me and finally decided to help out. "How about we go to that pizza place? That way everyone is happy and Ricky can get enough in his system before tour?"

Everyone agreed, so we all left the house, got in our separate vehicles and left for the pizza place. Let's hope I can stop embarrassing myself. Especially in front of my crush.
