The Mistake

Sans and Papyrus, just like any pair of siblings, didn't always get along. Sure, they love one another, but everyone has their disagreements. Papyrus always got on Sans for his frustrating laziness. Today was especially bad.
"Sans!" Papyrus calls from Sans' room.
"What's up bro?" Sans asks, and walks in. Papyrus is in the center of the room, holding an unrecognizable plate of green mush.
"Is this the same plate of spaghetti that I gave you 3 months ago?!" He asks angrily. Sans shrugs.
"It's not exactly like I keep track, Pappy." Papyrus looks outraged.
"Why do you never eat my wonderful spaghetti creations?! You can't go to Grillby's every night, it isn't good for you."
"Well at least Grillby's is edible..." Sans murmurs under his breath. After realizing what he had just said, Sans pressed a hand to his mouth. "Oh no Papyrus I didn't mean-"
"SHUT UP!" Papyrus cuts of Sans with scream of rage. He sighs. "At least what I do amounts to something."
"Hey, when I try at something I don't fail.." Sans retorts. Papyrus clenches his jaw.
"You know, if you want that lady that you're constantly talking to at that door to like you, you should try cleaning up." Papyrus looks at the shock in his brother's face. Sans spent almost all of his time at the door; it was hard not to figure out.
"At least I'm not deceived into thinking I might make it into the Royal Guard. Do you really think you have a chance?!" Sans yells, enraged. Papyrus stares at Sans with tears of anger in his eyes.  He summons some bones and hurls them at Sans. Sans dodges and counter attacks.
They had squabbles like this often. It was just weak attacks they threw at each other, never meant to hit the opponent, to vent off a little steam.  However, this time Sans hit Papyrus dead on with one of his blasters. Papyrus lets out a scream and falls to the ground. The blaster takes half of his HP. Sans looks absolutely horrified. "Papyrus I'm so sorry." Papyrus, in pain and anger hurls a bone at Sans. He would have ordinarily been able to block the attack, but he was so distracted by what he had done that the bone hit him right in the chest, taking his one HP. Blood begins to drip from his mouth.
"SANS" Papyrus screams and rushes over to him, gently picking up his brother. "St-stay calm, I'll get you to Alphys..." He stutters, looking rather panicked. Sans looks up.
"Papyrus... N..not your... Fault..." He wheezes. "S-sans...?" Papyrus says, choking down a sob. "Don't... Blame... Yourse-" Sans's voice is cut off as he disintegrates in Papyrus's arms. The dust falls to the floor in a pile, leaving only Sans's hoodie.
"S-sans...?" Papyrus whimpers, tears already heavily falling down his face. "C-come on, this isn't a funny joke!" He sobs in a low voice. "S-SANS!" He yells and falls to the floor, crying into the hoodie. "P-please... P-please come back!" He wretches into the jacket. Papyrus struggles against a wave of horrible agony in his chest. "J-just come back!" He sobs. "Y-you can go to Grillby's f-for dinner! I'll do y-your laundry! Just come back, p-p-please...!" Papyrus pleads into Sans's empty jacket. He looks over through his tears at the pile of dust that used to be Sans. He numbly begins to sweep it into the jacket. Feeling empty, he dials Undyne's number into the phone.
