Jake tries to survive life with an abusive step father, clue-less but hard working mother, and annoying older brother Sam. If that wasn't enough, he has to deal with his depression, dyslexia, homework, teachers threatening to fail him, bullies, a part time job and worrying about if his father is going to be killed in Iraq.
