By the next manageable pocket, Nathan was in high spirits. He took his shower and ate his breakfast without persuasion from Borgina. He was assigned to the team building the structure for a greenhouse for the first seven hours, after which he was to join the water extraction team.
It was going to be a long day of hard work but the excitement of his 'after lights out' plan was sure to keep him motivated through it. He had run through the steps in his head over a hundred times and was sure all bases were covered. Borgina also confirmed the plan was fail proof, which gave him another reason to relax.
When the door to his apartment opened, Nathan was shocked to see Nurse Reese walk in. He jumped out of his chair and hugged her out of excitement.
"I can't believe you made it back." He stated.
Nurse Reese returned the hug, telling Nathan how great it was to be back. Both parties were engrossed in the happiness of their reunion that neither one of them noticed the frown on Borgina's face.
"Nurse Cindy said you had a software malfunction and had to be replaced. I thought you weren't coming back. I'm so relieved that's not the case." Nathan said.
"Yes, Nathan. There was a software malfunction but it's nothing that couldn't be fixed. Right, Borgina?"
Nurse Reese's question completely surprised Nathan. From her tone, he could tell she had a reason for directing her question to Borgina. But why?
"I think the cat cut her tongue." Nurse Reese smiled.
"There are no cats on MoonEx." Borgina replied. "Why don't you do what you're here for and leave? I can't deal with your ignorance."
"I was going to say 'make me', but then I realized you can't. It must suck to be stuck in there like a pathetic loser." Nurse Reese replied.
