I waited out right beside the double-armed sliding door. After a few moments, Moon jumped outside the car and ran towards me. "I missed you so!" She said to me and hugged me tight. "Me too!" I said cheerfully to her, "you ready?"
"I'm pretty excited to say! This high is the most modern school ever, so cool! Look at those glass penal!" Moon slid her hands along the handle of the huge glass door and slid it open.
Inside, a huge water fountain greeted us from the center of the gigantic hall; different doors led to different rooms, with glass touching the ground, and a numbered metallic door beside it; the ground was laid with quartz tiles, and a staircase led all the way to the dorm rooms upstairs. Moon and I all exclaimed in surprise. This was already exciting.
"Welcome to Saint Kentigern High!" The principle greeted us warmly and handed a school map and rules to us, "names?"
"Moon and Allison." She replied.
"Moon and Allison.... ah," the principle exclaimed, "here's your class timetable, and your dorm is B12. Woo, together? As best friends." He smiled and welcomed the next students.
Moon smiled at me, "this is SO cool. It's almost like a shopping mall instead of a collage."
I nodded, but something strucked my brain, "what about swimming?"
"We'll figure out a way," She said blindly with a indefinite shrug.
I stared down at the new quartz tiles, fear flooding back to me, what if they see my tail, what if we get kicked out of the school for not participating, what if..
"Allison," Moon spoke quickly, as if reading my mind, "stop thinking about swimming, it's fine!"
"Can't, what if we get expelled?" My face must've scrunched up with fear because Moon looked at me with a raised brow, " Never mind, we'll be just fine." I added quickly. Moon and I never discussed this closed up before, us both putting up a guard after what I said on swimming.
"You'll be cool." Her voice rang through the halls. Oh Allison, Moon thought, sometimes is like talking to a tree, you need to forget some things, or you never say anything.
"What's wrong?" I asked, looking at Moon.
Moon stared back, "nothing," she quickly muttered.
"You are so easily to get mad at, you know." I said with a sarcastic smile.
"Whatever." Moon squeezed her brows and tried faking a smile. "I.. the bell is nearly going, what's your first class?"
I snorted, stop trying to change the topic, "Why?" I asked, almost teasingly. But hurt flashed across Moon's deep blue eyes, so quickly and hiding it again, she shook her head. I was only trying knock her out of it, but stupidity got over me easily: "Your so possessive."
Moon looked at me with confusion: "How?"
"Wow." I rolled my eyes. Like Alison DiLaurentis in Pretty Little Liars, Moon has once been the leader of the whole group in 8th grade. We went to the same Middle School, nevertheless, we known each other long and sometimes, Moon gets pretty frustrated and annoying. I replayed the scene in my head.
"Hey girls!" Moon waved to us, her, Lia, Stephanie, Emily and I were sitting on the outside table, where the popular girl group sat. "Hey, bitch!" We waved back and sang in the chorus. Emily pulled out a box of Moon's favourite sushi and each of the other girls brought their share. Moon flicked her perfectly curled blond hair and walked towards us, a bunch of boys staring at her reflection, her skin glowing . She brought us mango sorbet and cookies and cream fro-yo. Moon sat down with ease, her confidence radiating off us. "Start." She spoke simply, and we all dipped out utensils in our food. "Lia, you seriously have the best handwriting ever." She leant over to Lia's pages. Lia gave a wide-toothed grin back to Moon. She then leant over to me, "Outfit on fleek today." I smiled to her at the time and replied something.
"Switch." She spoke again, and all of us put our utensils back into the food and switched to the person on our left. Moon got my black forest cheesecake, I got Stephanie's raspberry tart, Emily got Lia's macaroons, and Lia received Moon's fro-yo. "Is it from your mum's fro-yo shop?" Lia asked Moon, with as much energy as she can, but it still slacked, "cause it's the best." Moon smiled confidently, and replied casually, "What do you think, of course. No-one else ever do as best as this." She said, flicking her hair.
"My sister's beauty shop opened a week ago, I brought you some samples." Stephanie asked cautiously, because if one of us upsets Moon, she'll befriend us forever. She brought out the Marc Jacobs perfume in Daisy Dream, and handed to Moon, "actually, you can have it." Stephanie added.
"Floral, nice." Moon said to Stephanie.
A lot of things has happened during middle school, the biggest is me being in Moon's squad. I was cautious along, scared that she might befriend me. Now something has taught her lesson, that she shouldn't be like that. Now that I'm the only one who goes to the same high as her, she has to stick on me.
"Yeah, you were pretty possessive." I said to Moon.
Moon tensed, "W-what?"
"Easy, killer." I chuckled inside, "middle school, you were Alison DiLaurentis in PLL alright."
"That was a long time ago." She sighed, "forget it." Her voice suddenly changed to a boring tone.
I looked at Moon's expression, I shrugged and kept my head down. Moon looked at me with a frown, but never said anything.
"Ding, ding!" The bell went through the modern school grounds.
"English." Moon muttered under her breath.
I looked at my timetable: history.
Moon ran to the English class room number and I walked towards my history right beside me. Moon never said "see you at swimming" or "see you at break!". I shrugged. Oh well, I thought, at least we still have swimming together..
