"I'll ask if there are extra mattresses so you guys can sleep here." My mom offered as she called on the telephone.
"..Are you okay, Tori-chan?" Hiyori went to me.
"..Uhh... Yeah.. I... Um.." I wiped my tears, "I just need some air. I'll be in the balcony if you guys need me." I excused myself, heading to the balcony on the other door.
As soon as I entered the balcony, I looked for the bench and sat down. I cried, for my Dad, who was my inspiration, my mother, who actually was a real goddess, and wanted to protect. All I wanted was a normal life, it seems that I enjoyed too much of it, so fate decided to make me suffer.
"Are you alright?" A low voice whispered in my ear. I was about to scream when the person covered my mouth with a hand. A pair of curious blue eyes stared into my brown ones.
"F-Forgive me, Tori-chan." Yato said, looking away, "I-I was just worried about you.." I saw a hint of pink at his cheek, and I grinned.
"um...um um um...I'm vum vum.." I said, however, I couldn't speak clearly since his hand was still covering my mouth, apparently he forgot how to release it.
"What?" He said, turning his face towards me. He finally released his hand from my mouth.
I sighed, "I said: 'I understand. I'm alright now'. "
He chuckled, "Sorry, I didn't realize I would surprise you."
I rolled my eyes, "You idiot, why wouldn't I be?"
"Cuz' you were kinda caught off guard after your mom said that." I let out a soft sigh, caressing my hand on my injured one.
"I never even thought, for so many years, my mom kept that secret... " I gazed at the stars, taking a deep breath, "..I didn't expect things would turn out to be like this and I wished it wouldn't but.. no matter how much I try, it already happened." My voice shook softly, forming to a whisper.
The wind gently blew my hair, as I brushed some behind my left ear. Yato gazed at me, and gave me a smile--genuine one. I turned around to look behind me, but he touched my chin and turned my face to look at him.
"Don't bother.." He whispered, "..this smile is for you, Tori-chan, and only you."
My heart pounded against my chest as I gazed into his eyes. They reminded me of the sea, when I was young. Suddenly, fragments of my past have entered my mind.
"You will return right, Tori?"
"Look out!
"TORI-CHAAAAAAN!!!"
I blinked and took a few steps backwards, almost lost balance for a second.
"T-Tori..." Yato mumbled, surprised.
"S-Sorry.. I'm just a bit dizzy" I shook my head a little as my vision returned.
I don't know if I was imagining things, but I thought I saw fear, worry and surprise in Yato eyes, but it was all gone when he blinked.
Regaining my composure, I looked at Yato. "W-We should probably call it a day." I spoke, shrugging off of what just happened. "I'll be sleeping on the top since there's a double bed."
"A-Alright..." Yato said.
"Tori-chan! Yato-san! Dinner is ready! Hurry up!" Hiyori yelled
"Alright!" Both of us said it simultaneously.A/N: Please support by VOTING, COMMENTING, and SHARING this story! :D
