11:30PM, Friday, 17th of March
Alexis sat, staring at the slowly sinking sun from her bedroom window. This was the last time she'd see it, surely.
Ever since a few months ago, Stars had begun to fade out, never to be seen again.
The sun would be gone by tomorrow.
It wasn't new news, it was reported that it would go. Everyone was warned. Gather your loved ones, say your final goodbyes.
All of Alexis' loved ones had shut her out. Her family, friends... Feared for her carelessness and left her.
So there she sat, watching the sun, which was almost gone, too.
She never knew when it would go, but it would be some time between midnight and dawn. It was a shame, really. Though her family never knew it, she'd taken their food supply.
Yeah, they can get screwed over before she does.00:00, Saturday, 18th of March
The sun had set. Nothing happened, yet. It wouldn't take long for Alexis Cayne and the rest of the world to die.
She twiddled her fingers and strolled downstairs, presumably to start up her fireplace. Everything got cold at night, extremely cold. The fire started up with a nice flare, and grew bright. It kept her warm. Boy, waiting for the end of the world sure was fun!
She sighed, staring into the flames of her fire. The fire licked the air, moving around. It was fascinating to watch.
Alexis mused about things she never accomplished in life.
She never got a boyfriend.
She never graduated from high school.
She never had a job.
She never got married.
She never had kids.
There was so much more for her to do... And it hit her.
She didn't want to die.
She had to do something! Something... Memorable. Alexis shuffled through drawers, finding a matchbox. She smiled. This would be memorable... She would do something out of line. Grabbing a match, she speedily stroked it across the box, setting it alight.
Throwing the match on to the carpet, she backed herself into a corner, watching the flames spread and eat up everything.
She suddenly felt cold.
The sun had faded.
The earth was dead, she was dead.
Alexis never got to have that memory.
