-Calum Hood-
Grade 10
2 years had passed since I first saw her grinning whilst driving, her soft hair flowing in the wind while we skipped school.
2 years had passed since I met her and since then, we've been inseparable.
"I hate him!" She huffed, pouting.
Michael was teasing her again, as usual, and of course Olivia was now mad.
"Why didn't you defend me Calum?!" She shrieked, hitting my shoulder.
"Because he was right." I giggled.
"He is so not right!" She threw a glare at me.
"Yes, he is! You always get mad easily! I mean look at you." I chuckled.
She huffed again, obviously annoyed that I was right.
"Whatever." She mumbled, crossing her arms. "At least I know how to drive."
"When are you ever gonna drop this? It's been two years!" I laughed.
"Can you believe it? We've been friends for almost 3 years! I'm kinda disappointed with myself," she smirked.
"Hey!" I cried, hitting her shoulder softly, but I sighed and gave her a sad smile.
"Yeah.. Three years." I stated, looking at her fondly.
'Three years and I still can't bring myself to say I like you.' I thought.
"What was that?" she asked, looking at me.
"What?" I asked, dumbfounded, but realized I had said my thoughts under my breath.
Well, this is embarrassing.
I coughed awkwardly, and told her "N-nothing."
"Are you gonna join our group study later with the gang at Kathy's house?" I asked, quickly changing the subject.
"Boo, boring!" She shouted, earning a couple stares and glances from passersby.
"Can we do something fun instead?" She whined.
"Shut up." I laughed. "Well, we normal people actually need to study, unlike you geniuses."
"Hey! I didn't choose to have eidetic memory." She giggled, hitting my shoulder lightly.
Since the rest of the gang had long since left the school grounds to go to Kathy's, it was just the two of us left.
Alone.
Together.
❄️❄️❄️
We reached Kathy's house in a matter of minutes, as it was a short distance from school. Ashton's red convertible was parked right outside, meaning the others were certainly inside already.
It was fairly large, definitely the kind of house most people wouldn't be able to afford. We walked onto the porch. Olivia quickened her pace just so she could get to the front door before I could. She rung the doorbell and the door immediately swung open, revealing a bright orange head of hair.
"Sup Kath." Olivia greeted, wrapping an arm around the figure with the neon hair.
I walked up to both of them and smiled. "You know, Kath, Olivia here almost didn't want to go."
Kathy looked up, furrowing her eyebrows. "Aw, just because you've got mutated brain cells doesn't mean you can ditch us for the cool kids." she pouted.
