Author's Note
Dear reader,
You might notice that some of the events in A Girl's Game are incorrect due to the actions of Katniss and the rebels. But in this fan fiction, nothing that they did to change the Capitol's ways ever happened. So, yes, I am completely aware that there are no more Hunger Games. I have read all three books. But, having a Hunger Games makes my story much more interesting and exciting! It's the main idea of the book.
I truly hope you enjoy every chapter of A Girl's Game. It would also be excellent if you would inform others of my story, and if you'd VOTE AND COMMENT at the end of each chapter.
And now, let the 150th Annual Hunger Games begin!

Prologue
I stand in the middle of a field, my hair of caramel brown whipping around wildly in the wind. I stare into the distance at the silhouettes of 23 people. We stay like this, watching each other. Though I can't see their eyes, I know they are looking at me with intensity. Suddenly, the world seems to zoom in on the people. In a few seconds, the first person in the line says, "Get the girl." Then he turns to his left as the next person says, "Get the girl." This pattern repeats until the person at the very end of the line says it. Then, they all shout, "GLORY! GLORY! GLORY! GLORY!" The last GLORY! ended in a piercing screech, and the sky goes black as the 23 tributes turn into thousands of Jabberjays, shouting my name in my ear. I try to run away but they formed a circle around me, preventing me from leaving the field. I plug my ears with my fingers and scream in agony.
"STOP IT!" I yell as I sit up in my bed, as fast as lightning. I had dreamt it again. The nightmare that haunts me every year, a day or two before the Reaping. My mother swings open my bedroom door, a tray of tea in her hands. She sees the distressed look on my face immediately. Then she sets the tray down on the top of my antique dresser and sits at the edge of my bed. I am breathing heavily, and she stares at my face, brushing my hair away from it carefully.
"Reaping Dreams?" She asks quietly. I look at her, the fear still etched in my eyes. I draw my covers up to my chest and nod vigorously. This is one of the few times I am completely alone with Mom. I feel like a little girl as she squeezes me tightly. She pulls away.
"I'm sorry my gem. It's scary, but you have to be brave and attend it tomorrow. You'll be fine." She smiles gently, takes her tray, and hands me a steaming hot cup of tea. I thank her and she walks out. I stare out my window and sip some tea. Still dark out, I think to myself. At peace again, I lay back down in my bed and drift off to sleep, hoping not to be disturbed by my terrorizing dream. I want to wake up calmly when the sun finally rises.
