Prologue
“You’ll never enjoy your life, living inside the bars…”
I couldn’t count on my father to come home tonight as I was too tired to wait again, as always. I’m sitting on the steps of our porch, the wind coming on to strong as leaves were being swept along the ground, falls coming soon I guess.
My mother isn’t around like she was supposed to be, my father ended up providing me and himself. Mum came along when she needed money but let’s not talk about that; today I forgot my key in my locker at school so it’s expected to wait.
My phone deceived me with its stupid battery power and now I’m forced to use the porch’s dim light as the only light source out here. How great.
I suppose that it could get worse, as the chances are it rains cats and dogs.
I sighed and started pulling out some grass, playing with it and throwing it back down, it was the only time wasting activity I could think of.
“Locked out?” I looked up and came to find there was no one there, oh. “Behind you stupid” I looked behind to see a teenage guy smirking at me, he chuckled and sat down next to me.
“Okay so, you going to tell me your name or should I have to force it out?” I sighed and looked at my Vans, who were really dirty from last nights drizzle. “Oh yeah, I’m Summer. You?” he chuckled and put his arms on his news looking at the cars passing by, “I’m Jai”.
“Okay Jai, what are you doing here?” I smirked; he huffed and pointed to the public park across the street. “I thought you’d need help, I was filming with my brothers and friends all day and I happened to catch you sitting here, all day” he said starting to point to the four guys.
“Oh yeah, I forgot my key at my locker, in school and I guess I have to wait for my dad to come home from work which is in like five more hours”, he sighed and shook his head “I don’t normally do this but would you like to come to our flat, I can’t leave you here all alone especially when it’s getting dark”. I smiled and nodded.
