Darkness. It was our beginning and possibly our future. Many tales are told of how empty the universe was before everything was created. Many believed that an incredible explosion happen and the solar systems appeared. Others believed in a greater being who created worlds without number. However, it was a different story that was lost to time. More of a combination of the two.
It was an endless darkness with no hope of light or life. Little did we humans know that there were gods that existed in this darkness. In all of this emptiness there was a palace of light, far greater than any palace ever created. It's towers gleamed like starlight and the walls surrounding the inside appeared to be made of diamonds. Inside was silver fountains with water as pure as glass. Trees appeared to be made of glass and the grass seemed like it was spun of silver thread. It was truly a palace for the gods. The gods were also beautiful. They had no face or clothes. Just a spirit with galaxies swarming across their bodies with brilliant colors of light. They had powers to do anything and create whatever they could imagine. They had no memory of their purpose or how they came to be. All they knew was that they could decide was to do with their infinite time.
One God was displeased with their way of life. He gathered them all together for a council and discussed creating worlds and creatures beyond count. Each God received a duty, a theme to focus on. Some were in charge of creating planets or creatures. Others were destined to make the air we breathe and the water we drink. Their forms changed into different creatures we see in books or in stories. Some were dragons or animals roaming in the woods.
The one who created the plan was named Solaris, the God of light and life. Many worlds appeared and beasts came out of the shadows. Plants and trees grew across the rich soil. Their leaves and flowers blooming for the first time to taste the sweet sunlight. Around the land, a great body of blue appeared. It was filled with creatures of beautiful colors and were able to survive in the water. Many plants also lived in the salty waters. Underneath the silver surface of the waters almost appeared as if it was a different world. Each planet was different and unique in its own way.
However, there was something missing. Solaris wanted a creature that symbolized their previous forms. A being that could walk, talk, create, and destroy. Solaris turned to his brother, Dracon the god of fire, for help. Together they created man, a species so wonderful and beautiful that they existed on all the planets the heavenly beings created. Man became intelligent unlike the other creations. They could build great structures and raise families. Solaris spent more time on the planet Earth than he did in the palace of the gods. He grew close to man and taught them more than they already knew.
Dracon grew jealous of his brother. His brother never even thanked him for helping bring man into the world. Hate grew inside of his soul and took over him. Everything that was light within his soul was extinguished. His heart became black as the night sky. Following his own path he created beings known as demons. Their bodies were deformed and cursed. They created weapons made of metal and poured fire known as Hellfire into the steel. This made the weapons more deadly and could incinerate anything that touched the blade. Dracon sent them across the Earth to destroy every man, woman, and child that breathed.
Solaris discovered what was occurring on Earth and was broken. He never wanted to go to war with his brother. He gathered the gods together in a second council. They created chains, chains that could never be broken. Dragging Dracon into the core of the earth, the gods changed him to the core along with his demons. They sealed the core and left him to be imprisoned forever. The earth was safe once again, but it couldn't contain that darkness forever.
Many years later, darkness leaked out of the core. It spread across the lands making even the purest of hearts evil. The world was divided into two sides, the dark and the light. Mighty kings built up cities and protected the lands that were untouched. Wizards became the prime suspects for the darkness and were made slaves. Some were executed or others were sold to work as slaves.
There was a goddess on a different planet, whose name was lost. She had the power of revelation and prophesy. Her eyes were as silver as the moon at night and could see into the future. During one of the planets wars, the enemy captain cut out her eyes. She became a fallen goddess. The gods held a trial about if she should be exiled for her loss of powers or if she should be executed for her weakness. Solaris decided that the earth needed a guardian to watch over Dracon. Having been given a second chance, the fallen goddess was given news eyes at a cost. Her memory was wiped of her ever being a goddess. A new name was given to this new mortal, Sarah the priestess of Solaris. Sarah was trained in the art of magic and summoning. Long after her training she was sent to the Earth to guard a city that dwelt near the coast.
