I watch as he walks out of the locker room sweat dripping down his forehead. His green eyes shine brightly in the sun light. His long legs carry his muscle like it's nothing. His brown hair is messy, but it still manages to look perfect.
It's off season, but he always comes down here to practice. I always take my spot behind the bushes with my sketch book. I look down at my latest sketch. I captured his beauty perfectly. Every little detail is there. From his chiseled cheek bones to his buff arms to his light abs down to his toned legs.
He runs his fingers through his hair as he heads off the field a smile playing on his lips as he looks at his phone, his perfectly white teeth displayed against his tan skin. I pull out my phone to see a text from my dad.
'You need to be home in fifteen minutes.' I sigh slowly standing up staying in the shadows unnoticed as I make my way to my car. It's a Chevy Impala, a remake of the one used in Supernatural. I push my glasses back up my pale nose as they start falling down grabbing my keys out of my bag.
I drive home as quickly as I can without going over the speed limit. I have my windows down the entire time my dark blonde hair blowing into my face as I sing along to my favorite song. Even though I'm adopted I seem to have picked up the talent of singing from my dads.
I pull into our large driveway parking my car next to my younger brother's before grabbing my bag, and climbing out. I slowly walk up to the door while putting my hair into a perfectly neat bun on top of my head.
When I open the door, the smell of fresh Chimichangas hits my nose. Uncle Mike and Uncle Tony must have came over with their girlfriend's, they make the best food. I place my bag on the couch, and walk into the kitchen, and smile as Erin greets me. "Ola!" I say in a joking manner.
She shakes her head, her chestnut covered hair falling into her tanned face as she giggles a bit.
"Uncle Tony!" I exclaim pulling the taller Mexican man into a tight hug. "Copey!" He exclaims teasing me with my nickname from when I was little. I laugh a bit before walking over to our huge stainless steel fridge opening it to grab a water. "Where's Uncle Mikey, and Aunt Alysha?"I ask curiously as my thin fingers carefully twist the cap off of the water bottle.
"The couldn't make it tonight." Daddy answers as he walks into the kitchen Jeremy and dad following right behind him. "Probably fucking." Jeremy's deep voice chimes in. Dad slaps him on the back of the head. "Watch your mouth young man." Dad says sternly.
Jeremy rolls his eyes. "It's true." He says rubbing the back of his head. "So, how was astronomy club?" Daddy ask a huge smile on his tan face reminding me of Alex's. "It was fine." I lie smiling trying to make it seem as convincing as I can.
My parent's don't know about my I guess you could say 'obsession' with Alex. I always make excuses to watch him after school. It's always that I have some kind of club meeting. I actually am in the clubs, but I only go to the meetings on the rare occasion that Alex isn't on the field.
I smile big as I think about the tan perfect boy. The thought of his smile comes to my mind, and my heart skips a beat. I walk over to the cabinets grabbing the dinner ware, and starting to set the table as the food finishes cooking. I hum my favorite song. "Can you stop?" Jeremy says rather rudely.
"Can you ask nicely?" I snap restraining myself from flipping him off. Jeremy just rolls his crystal blue eyes that match mine pulling his phone out typing a message to someone, probably Sherry, at lightning speed almost.
It's almost sickening how much he's in love with her. I think before remembering the three drawings that I still have to shade hiding away in my bag, and the thought promptly disappears as quickly as it came. The adults engage in small talk, but I space out as I start eating thinking about Alex.
It doesn't seem humanly possible to be as perfect as he is, but I guess it has to be. I finish my food, and just sit in my seat sipping at my water before pulling out my phone scrolling through Alex's instagram a smile playing on my lips.
Until I see a picture of him with Hope. Jealousy pumps through my veins in the form of adrenaline as I scroll past the picture gripping my phone a little tighter than before. I see more pictures of them together, and lock my phone slamming it on the table putting my head in my hands.
"Are you okay Copeland?" Daddy ask worriedly . I sigh looking up at him forcing a smile pushing away the feeling of jealousy from the pit of my stomach as I say "I'm great." In the happiest voice I can muster up.
"You sure?" Uncle Tony chimes into the conversation. He knows it's very hard for me to lie to him. I just stare off into space a blank expression on my face as I say "Yeah of course." He just nods starting up the adults conversation again.
I get a text from Jack, and smile a real smile. 'Hey Cope.' it says. 'Hey Jacky.' I respond quickly to my best friend, and he only person who knows about my obsession, and the only person who will ever know about it.
....Or is he?
