Musouka
It seemed like any other ordinary night at first. I said my goodnights and headed off to bed. I would have never thought I would dream something that would drive me to ask, to do such a risk-heavy thing a few hours later. I was in an all white and blurry place. All I saw directly in front of me... was a person. He looked at me with kind eyes and an endearing smile. A singular glowing firefly landing on his wrist. He then closed his eyes cheerfully and used sign language briefly. It could be interpreted as "hello".

I woke up abruptly, sitting up in surprise. What did this mean? Who was he? I just had to find out for sure. While I'm dreaming on my own, I have no control of what I do or who I interact with. At least not yet. That is why I need help. I quickly ran down the hall and knocked on the door of my roommate's bedroom. We had been close friends for as long as we could remember. Eventually, we agreed to move in together after college if one of us were to ever end up short on luck and well, it was him in the end. But that was a long time ago. We were both stable enough to pick our lives up on our own. We just chose not to.

I opened the door just a crack and peaked inside. The room was dark with only the light from outside the window to illuminate it dimly. He was asleep faced down with an arm hanging comically off the bed. "Hitomu?" I questioned in a whisper. I saw him stir in his bed, but he didn't wake up. I rolled my eyes as I shook my head with a smirk. I then walked up to his bed and stood there a second with my hands on my hips. He was still asleep with his mouth partially opened. His eyes closed and his expression as calm and serene as it could be when one was asleep. His black wavy hair was shaggy with a case of bedhead. I chuckled shortly and shook my head. I then smoothed a stray hair from his face. After a second, I began to shake him lightly. "Hitomu. Hitomu, I need your help with something. Wake up," I said in a louder whisper. He let out a soft groan then. I saw him raise his arm and bring his hand over his face. Brushing his hair from it then placing his hands behind his head to support it. He sighed deeply then "M-Musouka?" he said sleepily, his eyes still closed. "Mm-hm," I hummed softly in response. He then blinked one eye open revealing the bright marigold color in them. "I need your help," I repeated calmly. "What is it?" he asked opening both eyes and sitting up slightly. "I... I had a dream. And there was only one singular person who I could see. But I couldn't speak to them. I need you to set me up so I can properly be able to communicate. I wouldn't have a strange dream like that if it wasn't of some importance," I explained. "Well... did anything else happen?" he asked. "Well... they just looked at me as if we'd known each other and used sign language to greet me," I said thinking back to my dream curiously. He looked down at his lap and gave a thoughtful hum. After a second he said "Alright... let's do it then." He then took the blankets from over him and made his way out of the room as I followed behind. "What time even is it? Haven't even had my morning coffee..." I could hear him mumble sleepily. I chuckled shortly at his half asleep rambling.

We gradually made it to the back room of the house through a couple of glass doors. It was a scientific looking room. Mostly white with white tiled walls and a white and cream marble floor. Probably the most sophisticated looking room in the whole house. We didn't dare put much furniture in this room for we were worried about the effects it would have on our experiment. There was only one singular white arm chair beside a large device we named 'Nightopia.' It was a large white platform which you would lay down on. Overhead was a large oval-shaped glass which flashed once activated by the button that brought you into a deep sleep. Giving you access to the Dreamscape. There, you could recreate any dream you may have previously had and revisit it to possibly have a better understanding of it for research purposes if necessary. Or for our case in the past, just to have a nice place to escape to when you need a vacation of sorts from reality. Once I scooted up to sit on the platform, Hitomu took a seat on the arm chair that was directly next to the activation button. "So are you one hundred percent certain about this? You know the risks that come with this..." he warned.
