The Beauty and the Beast...

Chapter 1- Fury in my Veins

..And as air was dense and the world was silent, the hellion beast deepened its claws into the fleshy, skin of an innocent soul, making it seem effortless...

“Peyton, stop writing that pointless book and come help your poor old mummy with the chores you selfless girl”

“Coming” I said as I made a bitter face. Alexia was my ignorant step-mother. Since my dad had died, she’s been inhumane, a monster , a villainous witch… call it what you will but I was terror-stricken every single time I entered my own abode , afraid of being beaten and bashed till the point where I give up.

“The kitchen isn’t going to clean itself you dirty mutt.” Alexia yelled as a cold, clampy hand slapped across my face.

“Sorry… I’ll do it later, I’m going to be late for school “ I bundled my notes and my matted , sequined satchel and ran for the door, just escaping another cold hard slap around the face. 

“We’re not going to school today “ I said to my best friend  Preston with tears gushing down my face. Preston was my best friend and I must say he was quite the friend . His soft brown eyes and masculine body was a bonus but his kind-hearted personality made me love him as a friend or maybe even more than that.

“What’s wrong?” he said as he gave me an amorous hug. ”Is it “family” again?”

I gave a slight nod and tears started fiercely dripping down my pale face. I loved that he could understand me and know what I was feeling and make me feel better.

“Hey I know this great Forrest .. Do you want to go and explore it with me ?” he said softly as he looked into my amber brown eyes .”it’ll be fuuuuun. “

“S..s…sure” I said with a slight stutter from crying so hard.
