Archie's POV

I woke up and searched for my friend, my heart was pounding and my head was spinning. Why does Maxie always have to ruin everything for me?! I stood and glanced around to see if anyone else was awake, but only a few grunts were stirring around like they were going to wake up. There was no point in sticking around here, Team Magma was already long gone. I screeched at Shelly as soon as she woke up, which I doubt that she apreciated. "Get Matt and anyone else that's awake and go to Magmas base as soon as possible!!! I'm not losing Kara again!!" Shelly huffed, very annoyed, and nodded before walking away to search for any grunt that was awake. I grabbed my pokeballs and ran off to find Team Magma, or more specifically, to find Maxie and Kara.

I searched as much of Hoenn as I could, leaving the Magma base for last, but had no luck. Who knows what Maxie could be doing to Kara, he could be torturing her by making her sit through one of his lectures! I shuddered at the thought of him droning on and on about how the ocean must go. He sure was an idiot! The ocean needed to be expanded, it's so much better than land! I continued to think of ways that Kara could be in pain until I was interrupted by a call from Matt. I rolled my eyes and answered. "What is it, Matt?" "Uh, hey bro, well we're at the base but there are twice as many grunts guarding than there was at our base..." Matts voice sounded very nervous, and I honestly didn't blame him. "Don't leave unless you have Kara. I'll be there soon. I promise." I hung up before my admin could say anything and ran to the Magma base as fast as I could.

Matt wasn't wrong about all the grunts here, but everyone that I sent were already in a battle, distracting most, if not all, of the grunts from me entering. I started to walk around the base slowly, trying not to be seen, until I was knocked over by some impact on my back. I felt as if I had the air pulled from my lungs and I gasped to catch my breath. I jumped up as soon as I could breath properly and saw a Camerupt standing behind me, looking proud as a larger man wearing a turtle neck sweater walked over. "Tabitha.." I muttered under my breath. Always seeing Team Magma behind every single attack made me feel sick, even more so as it felt like the pokemon had rearanged my guts from the attack. "Well, Archie, isn't Take Down an amazing move??" Tabitha asked with a grin. "What are you doing with her?!" I screeched as a grabbed a pokeball. "Who? The mermaid? Didn't you hear Maxie? Its for you to figure out! Camerupt use Lava Plume!" I ran and barely dodged the attack, only getting a slight burn on my arm.

I threw out Sharpedo and grinned as my keystone started to glow and the megastone I gave my pokemon started to glow as well. Tabitha seemed very suprised as my Sharpedo mega evolved during a battle with just an admin. "Use Poison Fang!" I shouted, watching as Sharpedo poisoned Camerupt. "Well, Tabitha, isn't Poison Fang an amazing move?" I returned the sarcasm and grinned at Tabithas pissed off expression. His Camerupt kept attacking me with Take Down and Lave Plume until it eventually fainted and Tabitha was left looking lost and helpless. "Well there's no way you're gonna beat Maxie!! Even if you try your hardest!!" He screeched in fury. "We'll see about that." "Go fight him then. He's down that hall, and in the room with the big door with the Magma symbol." Tabitha pointed off toward a hallway. I made my way to where Tabitha stupidly told me Maxie was, Im not losing Kara. Not after I just found her.

A few grunts wanted to battle me as I walked down the hall. Their pokemon were more interested in attacking my pokemon rather than attacking me, thankfully, I was beat up enough from the battle with Tabitha's pokemon. I struggled in some battles as I was struggling to think straight, my mind was in a flurry of anger and worry. The grunts took advantage of this and got a few hits on my pokemon. "If you can't beat a grunt you'll never be able to beat Maxie and and save your little friend!" A grunt I was battling teased. "Crobat, use Super Fang!!!" I screeched in anger, watching as my Crobat dug his fangs into the Grunts Poochyena, causing it to faint. I glared at the now defeated Grunt and continued walking toward the room Maxie was in.

I got closer and closer, Grunts started to back away from battles as I made my way to the door. I felt more and more anger toward Maxie build up as I stood in front of the sickening Team Magma symbol. I barely set my hand on the door when I felt a poke in my back. "Dammit, what now?!" I turned around and saw Courtney standing behind me holding a pokeball. "I'm afraid I can't let you go in there." She took a step back and threw out another Camerupt. I snarled at her and her pokemon. "I don't have time for this right now. I need to help my friend." "Well, I need to help Maxie!" She huffed, "just throw out whatever pokemon and battle me already!"

I rolled my eyes and threw out Crowbat again. "Use Cross Poison." I sighed in frustration as my Crowbat poisoned Courtneys Camerupt. "Use Eruption!!" Courtney shouted, grinning as my Crowbat came close to fainting. "Crowbat, Super Fang!" Camerupt endured the hit, but the poison finished it off. I took Crowbat back in its pokeball and glared at Courtney. "Can I go now?" Courney huffed in frustration and put her fainted pokemon back in its ball. "I guess so, but don't expect to beat Maxie!" I rolled my eyes and walked in the room that Tabitha told me Maxie was in.
"Give Kara back!!!" I screeched as I stormed in. "Well, I suppose I can't trust my team to keep you out."
