Emily's POV

It's the day of the competition and I'm in the car with Riley, Mom, and Dad.
"I'm so excited!" I exclaim.
"You're going to do great!" Mom says.

We pull up at the competition venue and it looks amazing! I see Kate there and the studio owner and choreographer, both Kate's parents, on the stage with Eldon. They wave and Riley and I rush over to them.
"You excited?" Kate asks.
"Yes!" I reply, ecstatic.

Riley's POV

This venue is amazing! I just wish I could dance here. There's always next year I guess!
"You're gonna do really great Emily," Eldon says.
"Thank you, you too," she answers, then turns around a pulls a disgusted face. I giggle to myself a little and then stops when she glares at me.
"Hey Em!" I hear Tiffany and Stephanie say.
"What are you doing here?" Emily asks.
"Well we had to come and watch our new best friend dance and win for our team!" Tiffany says.
"Oh, look who's here," Stephanie says, looking at me. "Got your little friend to come and cheer you on?"
"Hey Riley," Tiffany teases, "why don't you go and join baby ballet, it's your age category: BABY! OK but seriously, it does go up to six years old."

Eldon's POV

It's my turn to go on stage and I'm so excited. I think The Next Step have quite a good chance at winning, if I do say so myself! I finish as it's Emily's turn to go on. She kills it as I expected she would.

Riley's POV

It's the awards time and I'm in the audience with my parents, waiting for the results.
"And the winning studio is...The Next Step!" the announcer announces...(don't ask). Everyone erupts into applause as the get given a trophy and a ribbon each. Eldon's is blue and Emily's is pink. It's so unfair! Why don't I get a ribbon?!

We get home and I see Emily carrying her ribbon into her bedroom to probably show it off to all her teddy bears.
"I WANT A RIBBON!" I scream and throw everything in sight and stomp and scream. All I hope is that Em doesn't tell Stephanie and Tiffany about this!
"WHAT IS GOING ON GIRLS?" Mommy shouts.
"I WANT A RIBBON!" I shout.
"That's fine, you won anyway!" Emily says, passing the ribbon to me.
"Really? Without even dancing?"
"Uuuuuh, yeah!" I take the ribbon and Mommy puts it in a frame with my name on it. I can't believe I won an award without even dancing! Now I LOVE dancing and I'm going to do it everyday and be the best dancer in the world!

Emily's POV

It's the day after the competition and I come to studio and see Tiffany and Stephanie.
"Well done on winning the competition!" Tiffany says.
"Can I see the ribbon?" Stephanie asks.
"Well, Riley threw a HUGE tantrum because she wanted a ribbon so I gave it to her and convinced her that she won the competition without even dancing!" I say.
"Wow really?! She's more stupid than I thought she was and I didn't think that was possible!" Stephanie says. Why are they so mean to Riley?
"OK, but you cannot tell her otherwise I will have to do something unspeakable to you," I say.
"And what's that?" they ask.
"I can't tell you because it's unspeakable."
"OK...they say and then laugh." I look over at her and she seems to be having a good time, at least she has some friends.

Riley's POV

I'm stretching with Chloe and Giselle, getting ready for rehearsal. I can't wait to do really well today!
"Hey Giselle," Chloe says.
"Yes," she replies.
"I was wondering if you could teach me some acro."
"Of course, Ri, do you wanna come too."
"I'd love to!" We then go to studio A to find that it's empty so we start learning.
"Wait," I say," I really can't do acro, can you teach me how to do a cartwheel." I feel my cheeks go bright red and stare at the ground. Why did I just say that?!
"Don't feel embarrassed! We all gotta start somewhere," Giselle says. I suddenly feel more encouraged and because I could already vaguely do a cartwheel so she taught me to have my arms and legs straight, being more vertical until I was perfect and could do it all on my own.
"Yes you got it!" Chloe and Giselle say. I feel really good about myself." Now try a one handed cartwheel." I suddenly get really anxious, put one hand behind my back and fall flat on my face.
"OK," Giselle says," pretend you're about to do a normal cartwheel but take one hand away at the last minute." I try it and do it perfectly.
"How did I do that so quickly?!" I ask.
"That's how fast I did it!"
"Wait," Chloe says," can you teach me how to hold a handstand for a really long time!"
"Sure, you need to squeeze every single muscle in your body and spread your fingers our so there's no surface."(btw if you ever wanted to know how to hold a handstand for a long time then that's actually how) We both try it and we fall over at first but after a while of up, shaking it off, up again, shaking it off, up again, shaking it off etc etc until we could hold it for two seconds. Suddenly A troupe all start coming in and we run out, back to studio B.

When we arrive back Giselle says," OK everyone, we're gonna have an acro competition." Everyone gathers round the edges and does amazing acro. Yet again, I'm the last one and I enter the middle, pull off a perfect one handed cartwheel. Then I do a handstand and hold it for at least three seconds! I see Stephanie and Tiffany's faces and they look gobsmacked. It's amazing. Emily gets everyone to erupt into applause. Maybe I'm not so bad after all.

Sorry this chapter is really boring. I was going to end it after Riley got the ribbon but I realized it was only 400 words long so I made it longer although it turned into a really boring chapter. Sorry!
