"I could never leave you because I love you and intend to become your husband. I want you by my side always. I panicked when you left but I knew you needed time alone to think. I was looking for you all night. Don't ever scare me like that again." She reached up and brought my head down to hers. She lightly kissed me and I wiped her old tears away with my thumb. I rolled back over and grace laid her head on my chest. We both soon feel asleep.
-Will's pov
I awoke in bed next to Grace, shoes and all. I was so relieved that I found her and I wanted to see her so badly that I forgot to take them off.
I rolled over and kissed grace's cheek. She blushed so she must be awake. I whispered "good morning grace." She faced me and whispered "morning will" to me.
I went to kiss her lips but she pulled back. I sighed and said "grace, I love you. I promise I won't hurt you. I know it's gonna take some time for you to see that but please don't take too long. I will wait but it's hard. I want you so badly."
She started babbling "bbbbut.....iiii..though....sssoo i...wasn't...but it cccan't."
I kissed her forehead and said "grace, calm down, breath. Ok, now what are you trying to saw."
She blushed and said "I thought I was dreaming and I couldn't believe last night really happened." She pulled me into a hug and I hugged her back. I loved the way we fit together like a puzzle pieces, made to match. Her head was hidden in my neck and mine rested on her head, our chests pressed together and our feet twined together. I knew we were meant to be together. Husband and wife.
As she pulled away I held her hand while looking at her eyes and asked "Grace, would it be ok if I....I...I......... Well... is it alright if I kissed you" she didn't answer me but she placed one hand on my cheek and smiled. I rapped one arm around her waist and put the other on her cheek. I leaned in slowly to give her time to protest but she didn't
I lightly kissed her. It barely parted her lips and I couldn't help but smile.
Too soon she pulled back and layed her head on my chest. I sighed with contentment and held her hand. Then it hit me I NEVER GOT HER A WEDDING RING!!! Sh!t.
I got up to go to the store but she grabbed my hand and asked "where are you going Will." I said "I need to get something from the store" she sat up and said "but it's 7 in the morning and most of the stores aren't open and we just got up"
I said "ok, but you stay here while I get breakfast."
I made eggs and sausage. I put it on two plates and let it cool down a bit. It was hot. While I waited I went outside by the lake and picked a purple lily. I smiled to myself as I brought it inside and placed it in a small vase.
Then I pored the drinks and took them, and the flower up to her. Before she said anything I ran back downstairs and brought the food up.
She giggled as she saw me almost spill the food and said "Thank you Will. You got my favorite flower and the food looks delicious. I would have helped you but you seem so determined that I didn't want to get in your way." She started laughing again. Then I said "well I just want to show you I can take care of you and be a good..... Husband and I'll always love you. I'm trying to show you that I can't leave you."
She looked down embarrassed and blushing. Awkward. I said "it's ok... come on lets eat"
I sat down next to her and we began eating. And I noticed that her hair was still messy and her makeup was smeared from last night but I didn't want to say anything about it.
When we were done eating I said "you can take a shower while I run to the store. Okay?" she nodded and asked "what are you getting?"
I wanted it to be a surprise so I said "it's a surprise but you'll find out soon, swear" she giggled but then composed her face and seriously said "I don't normally swear but okay you *beep beep beep beep beeeeeeeeep*, how was that."
My jaw dropped and she laughed at my expression. I said "such a sailor's mouth" she started laughing even harder and I couldn't help it I started laughing too.
I stumbled forward and tripped on the rug. Grace got up to see if I was okay but she was also laughing at me so to make it fare I tripped her.
Our heads collided but our bodies weren't touching. She looked upside down to me. We kept laughing and laughing until she touched my cheek and I looked into her eyes.
You know how they say that your life flashes before your eyes when you die. Well I saw my future. I saw grace a few years older with a little boy running through the yard. The house had a 'just sold' sign and I was holding grace in my arms. We were smiling and in love. I noticed a ring on her finger.
Then I saw a few more years later and we were watching our children graduate college. We were still, if not more, in love. Then later when our kids had kids, I still loved her even more and she loved me too.
I knew she was the one I wanted to spend my life with, have children with.
I came back to reality and pulled grace to me. I kissed her hungrily, devouringly. I needed her so badly and I was glad that she was kissing me with the same amount of desire as I was to her.
A little later we broke apart and I sat up. Breathlessly I said "I should...go...I'll be ...back...soon."
I gave her a quick kiss then left.
-in the car on the way to the jewelry store
Wait! what ring size is she? Will she even like the ring? What if I can't find one? Are there different types of wedding rings?
I started hyperventilating. He he ho, he he ho. God I sound like I'm giving birth. He he ho, he he ho. I need advice. I would have called my mom but she was out of town so I called Grace's mom instead.
"Hello Mrs. Sowman. I need some help. I want to get grace a ring but I started panicking. I'm a guy, I don't know anything about jewelry, and it's not in my nature too." I was embarrassed by my mumbling. I do that when I'm nervous. She said "okay. When are you going?"
"Now please, it got a little eventful last nigh so grace is taking a shower"
..................... Mrs. Sowman coughed and I realized what I said. Oops.
"WAIT. THAT WAS SO NOT WHAT I MEANT, NOT AT ALL. I meant dramatic. Grace thought I was going to leave her so she ran off and I found her crying. That's all. Nothing happened. I swear"
God I was so embarrassed. Again.
Mrs. Sowman just said "that's alright Will. You seem panicky. I'm coming to help. I'll see you in a minute. Good bye Will"
I said "good bye Mrs. Sowman" then we hung up.
