CHAPTER 10
Isaac's POV :
She was so compassionate. She feels with you, whatever you felt. That's why, it was so easy to talk to her. I'd known her for almost as little as a few weeks but I was able to tell her things, open up about my family, so easily and without any regret.
I guess she liked to listen and it helped that her presence was comforting.
I was glad we couldn't go out for lunch. We'd spent the day in her room, just talking to each other, about our past, present and what we want in the future.
She'd held my hand throughout the heart breaking story of my mother's death and I'd let her lean on me whenever she wanted to talk about Lyla. She was a little too sensitive, but that proved that she was capable of great love. I sighed.
"What are you thinking about?"
Her soft, sweet voice broke into my thoughts.
She was looking out of her window, watching the quite scenery of her neighborhood.
"Nothing." I smiled.
I didn't want her to know what I was thinking. She'd clouded my mind ever since last night.
I had gone against Derek for the first time, for her.
Derek would kill me if he knew. He'd strictly told me not to get involved with anyone, especially not girls.
I wasn't as popular as Erica, but I had got my fair share of attention from the ladies and Danny on the first day. I laughed to myself.
"That's definitely not nothing." She turned around to face me and she had a mischievous smile on her face.
"I had a good time today. Thanks." I didn't know what to say. Neither did I wanna say too much.
"But we didn't do anything. We just sat around at home. " she sounded confused.
"But that was enough. I'd never talked to anyone like that for ages, and it felt good to let certain things off of my chest."
"Well, the next time you need to talk to someone, you know who to come to." She playfully punched me in the shoulder.
She walked towards her mirror and started fixing her makeup. Frankly, she didn't need it. I'm pretty sure she looked just as beautiful without it. And talk about being in shape. Even though she wasn't as curvy as her sister, she was fit enough to get people's attention, a lot of attention. I mean she was a figure skater all her life, winning trophies for as long as she could remember. She plans to compete in the Olympics and probably pursue that as her career.
"Hey, do you still talk to Alex?" It just popped out of my mouth and I immediately regretted it.
She was obviously upset because I asked her that.
"Well, let's just say, that he'd been waiting for me to leave, so that he could get it on with Isla. My supposed-to-be, but now, ex-best friend."
"His loss." I truly meant it.
Radioactive just filled the silence in the room. Shit, it's probably Derek.
"I'm sorry." I said and excused myself out of her room. I picked up the call and braced myself for Derek's rage.
"Where are you Isaac?! How long does it take to go get grocery supplies!?" He sounded tense.
"Uhh, Erica had gone to run those errands. I'm here with Scott, at Deaton's clinic. " I'd never lied to Derek before, so I sucked at it.
