I stared off into the deep blue oceans. My black hair blows in the oceanic breeze. I could almost taste the salt in air. I leisurely ate my dinner, the food on the Anthem was delicious. Having heard there was a storm coming, I ate my dinner on the balcony, wanting to see the rain. I walked the few feet back into one of my dad's friend's cabin. My dad was watching the Super Bowl 50 game with a few of his friends. The room smelled strongly of all the different kinds of junk food they were eating. I sat down on a chair, enjoying the few feet of seclusion. One of my dad's friends, the one I call a braggart, was boasting about the fact he had met one of the football players over the loud roar of the television.
After the victory of the Broncos, my father and I walked back to our own cabin. My fingers dragged alongside the plaster of the wall, the rough feeling making my fingers feel like they were tingling. My father was ranting about how the game ended unfairly, (in his opinion) when a loud noise shuddered though the halls. That was when the shaking of the ship began. The quest back to our room became more challenging. As we continued the rocking of the boat became more violent. There were chairs sliding across the floor, I heard the sound of a pot crashing and breaking. I took my father's hand.
As soon as we can back to our room was when someone came over the speakers telling us we needed to go to our cabins. When we walked into our room, we gathered all out things and created many cashes of out belongings so they wouldn't fly across the room in all the chaos. I have come to learn, my father isn't one to sit and be still. Grabbing his phone, I guess he thought that this would be the perfect time to take some photos. He opened the door to the balcony. When I stayed inside I watched him as he took a video of the thirty foot waves. Finally he decided to come back in proclaiming that he felt as if this phone would fly right out of his hands.
After a sleepless night, the rocking and huge waves had subsided. We were so fortunate to have minor damages done to the cruise ship. We walked to go find some food for breakfast. We found a few ceilings collapsed, all kind of glass broken, and chairs tossed this way and that over the night. Luckily though, we found there weren't any serious injuries. Someone announced that we would be heading back to the port and ending the cruise early. My dad was a little disappointed the vacation ended early, but I thought it was best for the safety of everyone.
