I happily smile unable to keep the joy from slipping on my face. I receive the worn out wooden staff. I'm finally becoming an adventurer!
I step back in line, obviously hyper and giddy from excitement. Jedai, the Blacksmith, moves on as the boy beside me steps up and receives his own weapon.
I grin when he steps back in line and glances at me, "Fate, we're finally going to become adventurers!"
Fate rolls his eyes as he tucks his sword into his hilt, "It's just the start of our long journey. Becoming an adventurer is only the beginning. I'm going to aim to become a General!" He stands with his hands on his hips and chin raised in a domineering manner.
"No way! Generals are the highest of the rank, all the way at the peak of the 50th realm."
"I'll reach the 10th realm first, and make my way to the 50th. Even if it takes me years, I will do it," Fate confidently smiles.
"Sure, sure. I'll be there way before you though," I smirk and tease him.
Fate smacks the back my head and I almost cry out at him before realizing the opening ceremony is still proceeding. I simply shoot him a glare and turn my attention back to Helper.
It wasn't just these two that had decided their goals and paths, many of the other recruits were determined to reach the greatest heights.
Helper speaks, voice clear and loud, "New and young adventurers, as you all know our history. Our Lanos Kingdom has been in a deadlock with our enemy, the Siras Empire. We place our hopes in you to bring back our past glory and defeat the Siras! Come, our new recruits, strive for the top. For the glory of the Lanos Kingdom!"
The speech causes our blood to boil and cheer. The dozens of new recruits fill the village square with their roars. Like the others, we cheer along the deafening cries.
"For the Lanos Kingdom! Death to the Siras!"
We cheer until Helper puts up her hand in silence.
"New recruits of our kingdom, you must understand the ways of the world and learn quickly. I hope you will diligently train and step forth into the realm of 50."
The crowd erupted in chaos at her last words. Very few had been able to reach that legendary level. Of course, not in this new world, but in the others.
Would I be able to? I wondered. I shook my head. I will reach it. I glanced at Fate who also seemed determined.
"Night, let's go! We have to complete the tutorial training first!"
Fate pulls me along as we, and all the other dozens of recruits rush to the blue portal, enveloped in light. The village was soon empty as the recruits entered the tutorial grounds.
Helper, looks at the far off newbies and smiles, "Into the Newstar they go, one of the most recently made worlds... Will they be able to reach the realm of 50s?"
---
A wide grassy field stretches out before me. The sun shines down brightly as the winds softly blow. Trees and flowers spot the field and fallen wooden fences lay on the ground.A pink bubbly balloon like thing comes floating near me. It looks really squishy with a thin tail that has a star on the end. Its cute round eyes widen as it spots me.
"Greetings new adventurers!"
"It's a monster!" Someone yells.
"What? No it's-"
"You dummy, it's Trainer Kooii," Fate shouts and bows at the kooii.
Several other recruits who recognizes him steps forward and also bows.
Likewise, I nod at Trainer Kooii who floats in front of us.
"Welcome, I will help you get settled with the basics of your class and skills. I am Trainer Kooii, and I will guide you through on what to do," Trainer Kooii clears his throat and says, "Over there are the Young Kooiiz, please get three kooii vouchers for me."
Following his line of sight, several more pink kooiiz floats around.
"Now try testing out your weapons and get comfortable!"
I rush forward first and chant, a blue magic circle forms beneath me on ground, glowing and causing ripples.
Pointing at a kooii, a beam shoots out and misses.
"Damn it!"
"I keep missing," Other recruits shout and run around trying to complete the quest.
"Accuracy is a big issue in the early stages..." Fate murmurs and slashes at a Young Kooii.
The kooii falls and a pink doll like thing drops. Fate bends and picks up the doll.
"A kooii voucher?" I peer at it curiously.
"It seems like it. Come on Night, let's finish this quickly," Fate says and dashes at another Young Kooii, instantly killing it.
I chant and kill off Young Kooiiz and get my three kooii vouchers. I glance at the others and notice that there's people who are a bit... odd.
"It's the Siras adventurers," Fate says and pulls me over to the the portal.
"So they're the ones!" I observe the surrounding Siras recruits.
"Yup. You can see from their red badge that they are Siras. Ours are blue," Fate pats his own badge on his chest. He steps through the portal and I follow him while I pout in annoyance.
I know at least that much, sheesh. I finish the quest as Trainer Kooii hands me a book. Instantly, a blue glow flashes around me. Level Up! Excitement courses through me as I feel the wonderful sensation of power.
"Use the skill book to learn Fireshock," Trainer Kooii floats and quips around trying to tell everybody what to do.
Opening up the book, information flows into my head. Fireshock Volume I! The first book of the skill, causes 28 damage.
"Night, did you get your skill?"
"Yup, I got Fireshock I. What about you, Fate?" I say and look through my bag. There's some potions a few scrolls and a certificate. Plus a small box. I wonder what it is?
"Wild Swing I. Let's go, we have to train fast so we can become to the first ones-"
Whoops, what was Fate saying? I already moved out of training grounds before I could hear. And now I'm in... Woody Weedy Village!
