Five years ago.
"A human will rule this kingdom" Tobias spoke. "Destruction of your kingdom is not very far away."
My eyes narrowed with anger, "Is this some kind of joke to you?"
"You came up to me for a future prophecy for this kingdom" He said. "And so I did."
"Details Tobias, I pay you for this" I gritted my teeth.
"A prophecy is not a clear film, it's more like a blurred picture" He said. "But I can spare you some details, a girl, a human girl, at the age of eighteen will step on the throne which you call yours now. She will rule this place—"
"A fragile human girl will overpower me?" I laughed. "It's ridiculous to even think about it."
"Damien—"
"King Damien" I corrected.
"King, I suggest you to take the precautions before things get out of han—"
"Five years ago, my father retired and I ascended the throne instead of my brothers, because I was capable of ruling this kingdom" I said. "In these past five years, I have improved this kingdom more than my great grandfather's father did, even though he was the one who found this kingdom. I won over a five hundred battles in these five years, and you tell me that a human girl, so innocent, so naïve, so fragile could ever do something to harm this kingdom or me? It's pathetic, I think your accuracy of prophecies are growing weaker each passing day and I may have to kick you out of your position and this castle."
"There are some powers greater than that of violence and your sword" He spoke.
"Enough with your bullshit" I spat. "Guards. Kick him out of the castle."
Present time (five years later).
Anna's POV
My eyes were bloodshot, mascara running down my pale face, and my vision slurred because of the thick tears forming rapidly in my eyes. Just the perfect 18th birthday any girl wishes for. My best friend had ditched me, my two-years-long boyfriend had cheated on me and my parents announced the news of their separation within the 24 hours of my birthday.
I stumbled on a rock, it was eleven in the night and I was walking through unknown streets looking pathetic. My make-up was smudged and ruined, I looked paler than a ghost, my hair was wild and I was wearing a dress which Kevin—my boyfri—my ex-boyfriend gifted me, sudden rage shot me and I let out a loud scream and tore the sleeves of my dress. It was a full sleeved, short, red dress which Kevin loved how it fit me.
"What did I do to deserve this?" I shouted—as expected no replies came back, it wasn't like I was expecting a fairy mother to show up and turn me into Cinderella and find me a prince and let me have my happily ever after—life wasn't as simple as that. The streets were dead silent, almost as if I was in a ghost town. No dogs barking, no cars around, no shops open just one old tattoo shop.
"She is the one" I heard someone whisper, and panic gripped me—judging the situation, there was no one else around here, let alone a 'she', so my first assumption was that it was me who someone whispered about. I started to walk faster and I heard two footsteps follow me.
"She is the one! Get her! Get her!" I heard someone say loudly—not enough loud to consider it as a scream. I started to run, but heels and running aren't the perfect combination when you are cold and feel vulnerable and can't see clearly with tears in your eyes, so I did what almost all cliché horror movie main-girl does, I fell down.
"Poor humans" I heard someone laugh, just before someone grabbed me harshly from my elbow, there was no moon in the sky or street lights on the road to help me get a better look of my soon-to-be-kidnappers. I brought my eyes to the face of the person grabbing me, and a very bright light flashed, it suddenly disappeared revealing the face of a person, who looked pale—no he looked white, he didn't look like he had any colour in his skin or blood in his veins, he had bloodshot red eyes and he was smirking up at me.
"LEAVE ME ALONE" I tried to struggle out of his deadly tight grip. "HELP ME."
He put his palm on my mouth in order to shut me up but I bit him as hard as I could and he let out a scream with a few curses directed towards me, I didn't think anything else, I ran, I ran for my life because there was no way I was getting abducted by strange ghostly guys on my 18th birthday. Before I could do anything, I bumped into something as hard as metal. "Ouch."
"It's not an easy escape from me, sweetheart" I heard a voice say, and before I could see his face, darkness covered me.

Hi guys! New book! PLEASE VOTE AND COMMENT AND SHARE IT WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
I am very very excited about this book, because I had it kind of planned out! I got encouraged to write it after I posted an excerpt from this book-ish on tumblr and it got over 260+ notes and that was amazing!
I hope you guys love this book, and please be sure to vote and leave a comment, it inspires me to keep on writing and updating. About the update schedule, I will try to update as soon as I can because holidays are on right now for me, but for when I am busy on weekdays, I will surely update every Saturday or Sunday (depending on the length of the chapter). This chapter was very short because it was sort of the introduction thing, it wasn't even a proper chapter, the next chapter will be updated shortly (if I get positive reviews) and yeah!
Comment some actors who could play Damien and Anna (and please try to suggest someone apart from Ian Somerhalder because he is very cliché and is in every vampire fanfic or anything vampire related).
Peace out! x
