Chapter 25: My Aunt gave that to me!

“Where the hell have you’ve been. You left me hanging again!” Ruth yelled in disbelief. Her and Ethan kept going on and on about how they haven’t seen me in days, and how they were worried sick. I looked down feeling slightly guilty…

I realized that Ruth was right. Again I wasn’t being a friend to her; so many things have been going on like the Eric drama, mom, and me having to figure out my powers. Also I wasn’t being a good girlfriend to Ethan, and I hope that Eric won’t get in the way of things.

I ran up to Ruth and hugged her tighter than I ever had before, “I am so sorry Ruth, I’m such a bad friend.” I cried.

“It’s fine really I just miss my friend.”She cried.

Ethan stood there laughing then joined in on our big hug. “We forgive you.

As Ruth pulled away from the hug Ethan lifted me up bridal style spinning me around, and around and around. I couldn’t stop giggling; it felt so good to be in love!

As Ethan slowly put me down he held on to my waste tight, while I was facing towards him. Our noses were touching and I could feel his soft warm hair all over my lips, as he panted. “Babe you’re getting to old, I mean…am I really that heavy.” I laughed, and then pecked him on his soft lips.

He pulled away in awe, shocked by what I said.  “For your information I’m not tired Heather Peyton!”

“Whatever Ethan Corban.” I yelled back.

Before I could walk away he ran up to me from the behind slapping my bum. My mouth dropped as I turned to face him. “Ow…babe that really hurts.” I laughed in pain.

--the bell rings---

“I think we should go inside now” Ruth said while rolling her eyes.

Then we proceeded to walk inside together. Just before I could reach my locker Ruth pulled aside, telling me that she was desperately trying to tell me something for days…“Heather, I have a crush on someone.” She gushed.

I couldn’t help it! I was so curious to know who my best friend was crushing on!

“It’s that guy in your…You know geeky class.”  She struggled to remember his name.

“Thomas!”

“Hell no!”

“Jason”

“You’re really bad at this.” She laughed as we continued to walk to class.

Based on my fail at guesses there was one guy left…

“Is it Eric Dill!”

“Yeah, he is so hot. I’ve never felt this way about a guy before. Although the others were cute they were jerks. I mean yesterday, Eric winked at me…A freaking wink.” She shook me all excited.

I couldn’t believe my best friend was crushing on Eric. Even though I was glad she was, I couldn’t help but wonder what she would do If she found out that he was an angel, or even worse he would reject her. This…is…bad! I thought.

As we walked I kept thinking of ways to convince her but, Ruth is too hardheaded. When she wants something she’ll do anything to have it. Speaking of the devil…

Nigel and Amy walked right past us hand in hand, without saying even a single hello. He looked at me once and walked away while whispering dumbass losers under his breath.

“What’s with him?” Ruth stops to look back at them in disgust.

“Forget about, he shoved his tampon up the wrong hole.” I joked.

And we continued to walk away.

~the next day~

Nina climbed in my bed at four in the morning claiming she had a bad dream. A scary man wearing a long black coat telling her, that she too will be destroyed.

I had to put my arms around my little sister to hush her to sleep. But the dream came back soon enough. She began to cry screaming “Stop it! Leave me and my family alone.”

I began to worry again, so I held my hand on her head and closed my eyes. My hand began to glow brighter and brighter ever second. Subsequently her body starts to shake violently than ever. Her legs kicking in directions I would’ve never thought of, and all she did was give me one kick…And my body went flying across the room.

I blacked out by the pain…struggling to grip on my necklace my body was paralyzed.

 Nina’s body began to float, and my window flew open again I could barely see. A gush of wind, causing me to tremble. I managed to get up until I was pushed back by someone flying so fast in my room.

The person swooped in and landed. As far as the darkness goes I couldn’t see much, just a man fully clothed with a black coat, and treacherous black wings that were dirty.He noticed Nina floating, but I yelled preventing him from touching her.

He made his way over to me as I roared with a vengeance.

He pushed me down whispering in a soft voice. “Poor little girl.” While ripping off my necklace, with great rage.

Before he could fly out my window I yelled, “Give it back, my Aunt gave it to me!”

“I know Heather, I know…”
