Never did I think this day would come. James, Alia, and I stepped out from the swirling portal. Immediately I was taken over with thoughts and my senses. All around me kids and teachers of all kinds bustled and ran around. Tomorrow we would start school so I was presuming this was our day to get ready and get settled in. James had a scared look on his face, Alia was checking her map of the school, and I was doing a combination of both. I definitely thanked myself for not wearing any sorceress robes, all the kids were dressed just like we were. "Should we go in, I don't think we'll find our rooms out here." Alia said, as she pointed to a map. "Wait, I thought we had dorms?" Said James with a puzzled look on his face. "Nope, The faculty wants us to be able to practice our magic without disturbing someone else." Replied Alia. "That's also a good thing, some of us haven't gotten the hang of our abilities yet." I said, referring to myself. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Exclaimed James. Before Alia or I could respond, James had already started racing towards the grand entrance. Alia looked at me with a smile and charged after him. I was soon to follow. Before long we arrived at entrance, before us lay two giant gold doors. I couldn't help but fidget with my backpack straps. The fact that I had actually made it into AOF was mind-blowing. I stepped forward and pushed open the doors. James, being the forever 10 year old boy he is, skipped in the entrance with no hesitation. Alia, however, made herself very proper and polished as she stepped in the grand hall. I kinda just walked in. People my age were everywhere. Some had pets, some were alone, some had backpacks, some didn't. Before anyone could keep moving a old woman came flying in from behind us and landed in from of us. "Hello! Welcome to The Academy Of Magic, I'm Mrs. Wings, your flight instructor. Now, it is also my duty to present you with your companions, or pets. Everyone here is assigned an animal friend to keep us company and tell us where to go at what time. They can understand what you're saying, and can speak back to you, so, for the sake of your companions, don't call the pets, it's insulting." Said Mrs. Wings. "Yes, ma'am." Responded Alia before I could say anything. "Sure thing!" I said. Mrs. Wings frowned. "Yes, ma'am will do just fine." She said smiling at Alia before flying off gracefully. "What's wrong with a casual greeting?" I asked. Alia rolled her eyes, although she was my best friend, she also liked to play the role of the mom.

James quickly joined us again after he was done skipping around. James couldn't stop talking on and on about the wonders of the school. Yes, he had only been at this school for 15 minutes but, okay I guess. As we walked down the entrance hallway we noticed a large sign up/announcement board. "What is that?" I asked. "This is just the place we need to be." Answered Alia. We walked up to the board to see a long list of dorms and schedules. People with different power groups, such as flight, fire, mind, and stuff like that, had different schedules then people with ice, teleportation, or invisibility. I kinda  liked that. Here's the dorm list.

That's odd. Why am I the only one on the fourth floor? I grabbed a copy of the dorm list. "Let's make our way to the front desk." Suggested Alia. Soon, we were all following Alia to the desk. The lady sitting at the desk was about 30 years old. "Hi! Welcome to the academy! Here are your dorm spells." She said., handing us a slip of paper. "Thank you ma'am!" I said. "Should we go?" Asked Jason. "Yes, we advise all students to unpack and get settled on this fine first day!" Said the lady, cheerfully. The lady snapped her fingers and disappeared before we could even ask her name. "Everyone here seems to be in a hurry!" Alia noted. Soon we were all walking up and around the twisting and winding stairs and corridors. Since Jason and Alia were not on my floor I soon found myself alone. I stepped up to a dark wooden door. Carefully I did as the spell card told me to and placed my right hand on a glowing panel on the door. "Winds that howl and hills that shake open this door at my stake." I commanded. Immediately I was zapped away into my dorm.
