(Mattie's pov)
Hey, I'm Mattison but I prefer Mattie. I'm a 12 year old orphan at Stephanie's sweet orphanage. I have bad anxiety, especially when I have to talk about my past so I lie about it at first, and bad trust issues more with men than women, especially since my mom died and my dad became abusive, and I am also severely depressed.My mom died when I was 3 in a car accident while pregnant with my soon to be little sister. I was in the car with my mom but I lived and she and my sister didn't. My dad became an alcoholic and addicted to drugs after the accident. Those things made him abusive, so I tried to stay as far away from him as I could in the house. He mentally, physically, and sexually abused me. I didn't tell anyone because I knew he would just abuse me more. I lived with him for 6 years after my mom died until I ran away. I lived under bridges and in boxes until I was 10 when the owner of the orphanage,Stephanie, found me. I've lived here ever since.
