I was running late again….like always.
I really need to get myself an alarm clock that had a snooze function or didn't turn off when I threw it at the wall. Although if I was being honest to myself, that was the main reason I brought it, that when you threw it against the wall it turned itself off, a bit of morning therapy.
The only downside is that now, I either wake up 10 mins earlier than I should, turn off my alarm and fall back to sleep or my alarm doesn't go off at all, thanks to years of being thrown against the wall. Maybe I should invest in a second alarm clock?
I grab my morning hot chocolate and look around the coffee bar. It was a nice, small, cosy place. The owners played mellow guitar music in the background and had cute little leather chairs to sit in. I like it here; it was relaxing before a long day at work. Today it was insanely packed, all the tables were full. I spotted a guy sat alone at a table and so I make my way across to him. He was wearing a blue hoodie and was scribbling away in a notebook with his head down. All I could see of him was that he had dark short hair which was curly.
I tap him on the shoulder and ask if I can sit down, to which he mumbles yes in another of those cute American accents. As an English girl, I am amazed by all the different kinds of American accents.
I sit myself down across from him and say thanks in return. It was then that he decides to look up. His big brown eyes look straight into mine. It was one of those looks that leave you feeling bare, as though they can see into your very soul. His hair looked like it had a life of its own. He was completely and utterly gorgeous, and then it clicked who he was, who's table I had managed to sit across from.
"OH MY GOD! You're…" I start to say as my phone rings.
'Great work' I think to myself, 'always there when I don't want it to be'.
I answer my phone to my boss who nicely tells me that the girls I am planning an 18th party for, have changed their minds again on the theme, for the 17th time.
"Cant we just tell them that everything has been arranged so we can't change it now?" I ask stupidly down the phone, knowing to well what will come next, and it did, a nice lecture on how the girls parents are paying us a fortune to let us plan this party, so it doesn't matter how many times they change their minds, as long as their parents keep paying. With this I said I would be right in, hung up the phone and started to gulp down my coffee. As I grab my bag, I see the guy looking at it and was about to say something. I shout thanks as I get up and run out of the door. The rest of my day goes like normal.
I go to work, make my calls, and go to the gym. On the way home I grab food. When I have eaten, I have a long soak then crawl into bed with a book.Little did I know, this day just changed my life forever!
