Chapter 4 Icy Death

"What are you doing with your life Kim? Killing your sister, now killing these poor animals, we all know your going to kill all your friends. Rosemary, Tiberous, Katie, Demetre, and the one you love most. You're a selfish coward, just run away now and spare your friends lives, come home. Or is that how selfish you are just going and staying killing your friends so you can live?" "No mom, no mom," I felt tears running down my face, they were warm. I wanted to wake up but I just couldn't my mom kept saying that over and over again each time a little louder. I heard Rosemary screaming, I couldn't have been that bad and finally I woke up I was off my bed. "Are you ok, you were screaming and turning?" "Yeah, just I drwam and I don't want to talk about it." Rosemary seemed to be concerned but confused at the same time, I didn't want to talk about to her I was to tired and I just hate talking about my mom. My mom didn't like Jane and I didn't like us being storm chasers, she blame me for her death because we weren't supposed to be there, I was the one who got the team together and told them about the storm. Jane was excited about going so everyone was in, and that's when everything went down hill. I missed Jane so much but mom still didn't care she blame me, she screamed at me and told me never come back. I just I could go home and tell her all about this she loves animals she wanted to be a photographer like me but she couldn't. I hate that I have to stay away I wish I could hear her laugh again.
  Rosemary came running towards me, "you can go home Otterbein open a portal. You can go home now, but you can't return back hear. It's up to you we need you here, but we understand if you want to go home." 'What am I going to do I want to go home but I started this mess. I guess am staying to help,' "Am staying to help out, with anything." "Well you can start by helping me convince the creatures here to help me build a wagon that we can pull for the nonflying animals." "Umm sure, why would we need that?" "Well a war about to start, and your friend Tiberous has got half of the creatures are coming so we need them to take them to saftey. So let's get started I'll gather the creatures and you make a speech, OK?" I nodded and went on to get ready, I went to my room, when I realized one of my best friends was down the street. I totally forgot all about her I must have been so busy how could I forget all about her.
I ran down the street and knocked on the door. "Who is it," That voice was so familiar "Hey it's Kim, Katie can you help me with my speech". "Sure am coming, where have you been lately I haven't hear from you in a few days?" "Yeah, I've been busy I know that's not an excuse, but I really been sorry that I haven't talk to you lately." Katie looked so upset, I felt horrible I was hoping she would forgive me. "Follow me and I need your help with you words you seem to be able to use your words wisely."
  We stayed up till midnight trying to think, finally we had it. Around 7 am, Rosemary knocked on the door. "Hey you got that speech ready, if so get ready now your on in ten." I started to get ready, I heard a knock on the door that mist be my signal to come. I walk towards the center, I heard a lot of talking from the center. I went up some stairs and I was on a side of a stage. I saw Rosemary she was standing waiting, then she started talking.
  Good morning everyone, thank you for coming out today. We are gathered today for a speech for a situation that is forming. Please listen to my good friend Kim. She wanted me to convince them to help fly a thing to hide. I couldn't do that, I was taught to stand up to bullies. That's what am going to do, am changing the speech. Here goes nothin, I started towards the center to speak. Hello everyone, am here today to tell you about building a wagon for animals that can't fly. We need you to help fly it, yall must me asking yourselves why would we need a wagon? Well a war is about to start and most want to hide but I say. No we stand up against these people and fight if your with me raise your hand and chant war. I raised my hand,"War war war," a couple creatures started then everyone was doing it. I looked over at Rosemary she was rolling her lights I gave her a smile and she walked away. I started towards her, then I felt something on my shoulder it was a guard that. "You have to stay and answer questions," I nodded and went back to the center. I answer a few question then walk back to my house. Rosemary was there "What we're you thinking? I thought we were hiding not fight Kim dint do this. This happen a century ago let's just say this world in only 100 years old." "Am sorry, I just was bullied when I was young and hate hiding now." Rosemary stormed off, what have I've done endangering her like that. I always do this I wish I could go home now. I got up and walk put on my backpack and hollered we started towards a path. "Hey you ok Kim, you seem down." "Yeah, Rosemary mad at me I just hate being the vulnerable one. You know what I mean." She nodded her head we started to walk a little faster. A meadow was a head the wind started to pick up and the meadow look alive. It was like a green ocean that was so beautiful.  I wish there was no worry in the world just happiness. Katie was laying in the meadow she seem happy so I left her alone. I went over to a tree and took a nap. I heard Katie walk towards me so I woke she said we had to go now Rosemary needs us. We started to run when we saw Rosemary she was holding something. She was crying "Look what you have done a plaque has started all because of you." How was this my fault?  What, I had to help now I started towards my house. I got my first aid kit get and started towards creatures. Most didn't want help then finally caved in and let me help. Hundreds of creatures were died others injured. Around one in the morning is when I finally went to bed.
  "Honey wake up," "five more minutes please." "Sorry but you have to go to work and study your pictures with your sister." "Were is Jane?" "She went to work she said let you sleep for awhile then send you to work." I started getting dressed I wore skinny jeans and a dark green shirt. I got in my car and head to the office. Jane waited for me at the door and said that they found a new storm prediction it looked big. We just got back from Ohio that showed us a new prediction that could change our lives if we caught it in action. So we got in the van started heading toward that's when the van split and Jane screamed tell mom I love her.
  I woke up crying and sweating, it was the day all over again why. Even now I get to see everyone die in front of me. I tried going to sleep but every time I closed my eyes I saw her dying face and the smile that never went away. 'Why did you have to die and not me?' I thought to myself. I decided to walk out and walk around town. I can't believe a plague happen. "This is all your fault," What Rosemary said might be true this is all my fault. I started crying in the center where the great rock laid. I felt someone touch my shoulder I turn around it was a baby Griffin. "Why are you crying?" "Because this is my fault I caused all of this and you don't deserve this." He looked at me with sadness then hugged me, "This is not your fault, this is no one faults so don't cry am Victor. " "Hi Victor am Kim why are you up so late." "Well my parents are hurt so when am sad I walk around, why are you out here?" "Well I do the same but I talk to myself." Victor started talking so we started walking when we reached the meadow we sat there and look at the stars. "Look a shooting star make a wish quickly," Victor closed his tiny eyes and mumbled something. I did the same, my eyes started to close and I felt Victor started to scoot in. All of sudden darkness consumed me.
  I open my eyes Victor is still asleep, 'I love this little guy' I think to myself. I wake him up so we can walk back to the town and check on his parents. Apparently his parents didn't make threw the night. He cried for hours, I stayed with him I said I would take care of him. I took back to my house told him to take a nap. I heard a knock on the door I went to go answer it when I was knock out cold.
