Chapter 15: Uncover the Secrets

Nakipagtitigan lang ako kay Sid habang nandito kami sa cafeteria. We planned to meet here after kong makipag-usap kay Gray slash Greg. Hindi lang pala ako ang mahilig sa disguise. Tss.

Tinaasan ako ng kilay ni Sid na tila hinihintay ang sagot ko sa tanong niya. I just stared at him, never saying a word or two.

"Fine. Keep it to yourself, then." He said as he sighed in defeat. Isinandal niya ang kanyang likod sa upuan. "Nga pala, ba't mo sinabi sa kanya na may clue na tayo?"

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko sa narinig. "D-did you just listen to our conversation?" I blurted out.

He chuckled. "I just heard the last part, Dina."

That's a relief then. "Well. This is just my hypothesis, really. I'm not sure if it can lead us to the culprit or not." Alinlangang sagot ko sa kanya.

"You'll never know if you're right unless you try it. Go on, tell me."

I let out a sigh first. "Well, the fact that Ivan is not really one of the Social Welfare Students but a rich kid on disguise is the only clue we've got."

Napakunot ang noo ni Sid. Ang weird naman kasi ng sinabi ko. Hindi naman siya nagsalita kaya nagpatuloy ako.

"Ivan Alcoseba is the only successor of the AC Shipbuilding Company. Knowing that could lead us to a possibility that he has a step or a half brother or sister who wants to take the company away from him. And the easiest way to do that? Getting rid of Ivan."

Sid smirked. "You got a point. But how can we know if he really has a step or half brother or sister? Kapag ang presidente ng isang malaking kompanya ay nagkaroon ng illegitimate child, madalas inililihim ito sa publiko para sa reputation ng company."

"I know, but we could still find a way."

"How?"

"Through his phone. The culprit may have called him to lure him into the Museum and when he got there, the culprit killed him."

Tumango-tango naman si Sid. "But wait, I also saw the culprit so I'm certain he's a man."

"A woman can disguise as a man too, Isidro." I said. "Vermouth, a member of the Black Organization can disguise herself to anyone, may it be a man or a woman."

"How can I be sure if that 'Vermouth' your talking to is a man or a woman? All I  knew is that it's a type of a liquor I never got a taste of." Boring na sabi niya.

Napaface palm na lang ako. "Seriously Sid, hindi ka ba nanonood ng Detective Conan?"

"Got no idea what it really is." He stated as if it was the most boring movie to watch.

I  sighed out of frustration. "No wonder hindi mo siya kilala. Vermouth is just a codename. But my point is, she's a woman and she can disguise as a man."

"Whatever." He said shrugging his shoulders. "So, how would you find Ivan's phone? It was nowhere to be found in the crime scene."

"But it's there in the real crime scene." I said as I flashed a mischievous smile. "If someone had attacked him sa ibang lugar, maaring nahulog ang phone niya doon, which means we should search the last place he was found alive."

"And that place is?"

"Museum." I don't know but I can feel the excitement.
