It Started With A Text, Chapter One.

"Why am I doing this again?" I sigh.

"Because you love me," my best friend replies.

"You're probably right about that." I tell her, chuckling a bit. "But mother will not like it if I go."

"Cheer up! Live a little!"

"I am living." I tell her sincerely. "I read books every night, I eat every day and I sleep every day and night."

She snorts. "You call that living? Living is partying! Having fun! Getting laid!"

"And then pregnant." I mumble.

She scowls. "It doesn't have to be that way. Come on, Lia! Live a little! Your mother doesn't rule your life, you do! You're nineteen for God's sake and you're still a fucking virgin!"

I blush at the change of topic. "Yeah? So what's wrong with being a virgin? I find it quiet appealing."

"Oh my God! I am not having this conversation right now; in fact, go get ready!" She shoves the dress into my hands. "I'll be outside."

"Okay," I trail off, still not sure about the idea. "I-"

She sends me a look that says, 'don't fuck with me' and them exits my room.

I sigh, shaking my head. "Why do I have a peppy best friend?"

"Shut up and put the fucking dress on!"

"Alright, alright!" I yell back. "I'm doing that right now!"

I quickly change out of my old clothes and slip the dress on.

I don't know what type of dress it is but it's strapless, really short and clings to my body, exposing curves I didn't know I had. It also pushes my boobs up.

I don't like it. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

"El?" I call. "You can come in now!"

Not even one second later, she bursts through the door.

"Woah!"

"I know right. I don't like it."

"What the fuck? How can you not see how mother fucking sexy you look?"

"Really?"

She nods. "Honest."

"Um, okay. But it makes me feel uncomfortable."

"You'll get use to it." She shrugs. "Sit down at the mirror."

"I don't get why your wearing a skirt and shirt and I have to wear this." I mumble as she starts doing my makeup.

"It's your time to shine, love." She says.

"Oh," is all I say.

"Your younger brother tried to make a move on me!" She blurts out.

I freeze. "Jason did what?"

"I said-"

"I heard what you said!" I snap. "What did you do?"

"Er... I flirted with him?"

"Eliza!" I groan. "Don't lead him on! He's only eighteen."

"But he's hot." She says. "And he's just a year younger than me."

"Don't tell me my brother's hot, gross."

"But he is." She insist. "Maybe if I'm drunk enough I'll fuck him at the party."

My eyes widen until it feels like their going pop. "Eliza!"

"Done!" She smirks. "Look at the beauty!"

"Aww, thanks, El." I tell her. "You might be a bossy and bad influence but your still the only best friend I could ever ask for."

"Thanks,"

El made my makeup match with my outfit. She gave me smokey eyes that made my blue-green eyes look a bit brighter and red lipstick and she curled my eyelashes and put on mascara. "

"You do your hair, okay?" She says and I nod. "I'm going back down stairs to that brother of yours."

I roll my eyes as she exits my room. I decide on a side Spanish braid(yes, such a thing exists) and I quickly start doing my jet black hair. Once I am done, I let it hang around my shoulder.

I look around the the room and spot my red pumps in a corner. I pick them up and hold them in my hand. Then I grab my purse, which had in my phone and keys.

I exit my room and go downstairs, taking two steps at a time.

The house is oddly quiet. "El? Jay?"

I hear noises coming from the living area and trudge there.

"Oh my fuck!" I gasp. "Scarred! Scarred for life!"

Eliza pushes Jason off her and he falls onto the ground.

"Lia, I always knew you were a cockblocker!"

The tension is so awkward now. Bestie x brother...

"I'm ready to go!" I say suddenly, feeling party vibes. "I'll, uh, I'll wait in the car?"

I take a sip of my water and a sigh escapes my lips. This place is not for me. The music is so loud; I mean, isn't it bothering neighbors?

Drunk people all bounce into me, along with sweaty people. Gross.

And guys are staring at me like I'm a piece of steak.

I want to leave but I haven't seen Jason nor Eliza after the few drinks she had.

Oh God, don't tell me...!

I frown and push pass people, making my way outside.

I sit on the porch swing.

I want to leave but I don't even know where I am. Fuck you, Eliza.

"You don't look like you're having fun." A voice says, startling me.

"What the fuck," I breathe out.

"Sorry," the voice chuckles. The boy comes out into the light. He has short blonde hair and almond brown eyes. "I'm Richard."

I didn't as for your name. "Okay." I nod.

It's quite awkward after that.

"Er... So what's a girl like you doing her?" Richard asks, smiling.

A girl like me? "Excuse me?"

His smile fades. "Sorry, that's not what I meant-"

"Then what did you mean, Richard? That I don't look like a slut or a party girl, so I shouldn't be here? That I must be at home, watching Netflix and eating popcorn?"

"Woah. Sorry if I offended you. I was just saying that- well, uh,"

Just go away! Please!

"I'm going to get a drink. You want one?"

Before I can answer he's off.

I sigh. Why did I agree to come here?
