Mya POV
"Mya William" My principle called my name as I walked across the stage getting my diploma. "Thank you" I said walking off the stage as I just got claps. I have no family or friends to support me. But that's fine with me because my grandma always told me that if no one want to be in my life than I cant force them to be. She also told me to find some one special some one that make's me happy. She said that before she passed. I miss my grandma so much. I thought about as I sat in my seat watching others former students walk across the stage.
After the graduation my teacher Mrs. Chester made me go to the after graduation party she held at the gym. It was fun I guess I just sat in my chair and watched other people dance and have a good time. It wasn't that people wouldn't be my friend but I just didn't want to get close to someone I know would leave out of my life. No one every stay in my life for to long before they leave.
After the party was over I went home. I started walking up stairs when miss Lynn called me to the kitchen. "yes?" I said walking in the kitchen
"Now that you are 18 and graduated from high school i expect you to be out this house in a week" she said reassuring me for the hundredth time
"Yes ma'am I know" I said even tho she was rude to me my grandma always told me to be respectful to adults and always have manners.
"Good cuz I cant wait till you leave" She said dismissing me out the kitchen. I walked up stairs and started packing. After I was finished putting all my clothes in my suit case and other belongings in another suite case i was done with packing. I didn't have a lot of things because I don't have my own money so miss Lynn bought my stuff and it wasn't a lot went went shopping once a year since I stop growing at 15.
I hoped in the shower and just let the hot water hit my body. What am I suppose to do now I need a job fast. I was so focused on school and making sure I wasn't in miss Lynn's way I forgot about saving money up for when I leave. "Dang" I said to myself. I was rinsing off my body when I heard banging on the door.
"Get of the shower you makin my water bill go up! You don't pay no bills get out the shower little girl!" she yelled making me jump alil as I turned off the water stepping out drying off. I put on underwear then lotion my self down Then put on some black shorts and a yellow crew neck shirt and some ankle socks. I walked out the bathroom and to my room laying down feeling my eyes lids get heavy.
Next morning
I woke up and did my hygiene and put my long box braids into a high bun that sat on the top of my head. I went through my suit case to find something to wear after about ten minutes I finally found some thing to wear. It was a grey V-neck t-shirt with some blue ripped jeans I put on my grey converse. After getting dressed I went down stairs to go make me some thing to eat but was meet by a woman I never seen before.
"Are you Mya William?" the mystery lady asked
"Yes" I said not sure she would need me out of all these kids running around this house
" Can you come with me to my office." she said more of telling me than asking "Oh and bring all your belonging with you I was told you packed"
"Wait did miss Lynn call you? I told her I was leaving she said I have until the end of this wee-" I went on until she stopped me.
"No, no" She said chuckling "Im taking you to my office so I can read your grandmothers will to you"
"Will? I never knew my grandma wrote a will"
"Oh well they couldn't give it to you when she passed because you was to young and she told them not to tell you until you turn 18 because she didn't want you to know that she was dying. She wrote it when she found out she was dying but still healthy at the time, but enough of chit chat can you get you things so we can leave." She said and smiled at me
