When I open my eyes me and alex are speeding ahead, all the other teams stuck in place, once they cut through the thorns they immediately speed to begin, and I feel an agonizing pain starting to commence on my wrist.
"Dammit." I curse under my breath. Let me explain, you see what makes me so different from all of the Demeter kids is well, I was born with a strong connection to my mother side. You see, whenever I grow a plan with my, umm, powers, I guess you could say, I become connected to that plant so when it 'dies' (gets cut down if its a tree, or torn from the ground or apart if it's a plant) the shape of that plant get burned into my arms. So right now I probably have burning thron branches growing all over my arms and wrists, the burning eventually fades and so does the mark, but it still hurts like Tartarus.
"Will?" Alex asks me.
"I'm fine don't worry," I tell him. No, alex didn't know about my little curse, and I didn't plan on telling him. He would most likely stay up hours a night reading books about how to make it stop and searching for an answer every waking hour, I just couldn't do that to him. He worries a lot, he tells me cause he never know what I'll do next, so he just expects the worst. And yes, I definitely worry about him, it either seems like he's depressed, or just totally socially awkward with everyone in public. I sigh at the thought as I come back to reality.
"Grow the vines know will!" Alex orders me and I close my eyes again. Then out of no where Zander and raven appear from the shadow of our chariot.
"What the-" alex yells.
"Child of hades. I can shadow travel, remember." Zander cuts him off with a smirk. Behind them was Maple and Aiden hanging on to their chariot.Raven spins around obviously sensing someone's presence and her face turns into a glare.
"You little-!" Raven calls at maple, realizing she was there.
"Genius." Maple cuts off Raven. Which angers raven even more, she hates being cut off.
"You guys were obviously gonna shadow travel, so we thought we might as well join you guys for the ride! I would have done it myself, but soooo much work." Maple gloats and raven slaps her hand hard to get her to release off of the chariot. After maple releases we were all in a line, tied. Just as I was about to use my plant powers, the ground rumbled, and a crack began in the middle of the track.
"Alex what's tha-" I didn't end up finishing my sentence because I got thrown out of my chariot, flying through the air, landing right in front of Rachel, the oracle.
"Willow!" Rachel yelled!
"Oh my gosh are you okay?!" Rachel continued helping me up.
"That was quite a fall" she said, then her eyes started to turn bright green.
"Um, Rachel, your-your eyes." Just then Rachel froze, swirls of green coming around her and her mouth opened, and we all knew what was going to happen, she was going to tell me a prophecy, and I knew then, I'd probably die.
"One shall perish for one to rise
The owls faith slowly dies
Teams of two will depart to go
Two shall follow after four go
The cursed girl of the wheat
Will finally taste the seas defeat
And the love that has no bottom
finally has the time to blossom"
Rachel finishes and take a breath in, slowly coming back to her normal self. I try to move, to get up and help her. But I can't. Stay calm. Try to move your arm, can't, your hand, can't, your finger?! Ya, still can't. I just stand there staying at the ground. Everything's spinning, oh lord zeus, this is bad. "Willow..." I hear a voice in my ear, it's Zander. "Willow I'm gonna help you up know...." He tells me while going in front of me and grabbing my elbows to help stabilize me. I feel my self leaning over. "Woah woah," he tells me concerned. "The worlds spinning." I tell him and I fall into his arms. That's when it all went black.
