"Left hook, right hook, left hook, right hook" said as a middle-aged man guides the little girl's fist. She giggles and says ''Am I doing good, Papa ?'' ''Yes, Amethyst. Keep up the good work, baby. If you do, one day, you can be great like Papa and Pop-Pop.'' Ever since that day, her very soul changed and everything around her. 10 years later, basically the present, Amethyst, 17 years old, going to highschool, supporting her and her sister on her own. She has good grades, great attendance and nice to others, basically the perfect student but, with a lot of struggles. She trains and fights at night. Her mother died after giving birth to her and her father died while after a fight with a heavy-weight champion. Ever since a year ago, she has been working with the help of her father's old friend/manager. One night, it was important for her to train her hardest for tomorrow night was her debut fight and that morning would be her enterance exam for her college of her choice. She applied for Laura Anderson College, a prestigious and the most well-known college in her state. But tonight, money is coming in for this champion...for family and some self respect.
As she wakes up and puts on her boxing clothes, she felt as if her father and her mother were smiling down at her and blessing her to win this match. She took a deep breath and dashed out into the ring. A group of people cheering for her appearance. She smiled and arm-pumped her fist into the air. The crowd had stopped when the announcer shouted ''Now introducing another first time boxer tonight, Hera Hernandez !'' She came into the ring, with smiles and waves until she spotted her eyes at Amethyst. She evilly grinned and pounded her boxing gloves together vigorously. They both looked at one another's eyes with deep, furious passion. They both had a glare of determination and they both wanted to win that money along with the betting money. The bell rang and the two girls fought. Amethyst punched her in the face twice until Hera blocked her other swings. Hera retaliated and punched Amethyst back in her face. She spat the blood out of her mouth and charged at Hera with a fierce punch to her sides and others at her stomach. When Hera stopped blocking her face, Amethyst went in for the kill and punched her in the face with all her might in this one punch. Hera was knocked out, with a black eye and a broken, cocky pride. Amethyst smiled, the crowd cheered and praised her. As she walked off the stage, her trainer patted her on the back. "Great job out there, kid. Just like your pops. He would be hella proud of you right now. For you had only family and love on your mind. Like a true champ" he said. She smiled and hugged him. "Thanks, Uncle Joey." "No problem, kiddo. Now go and get your reward and I will get you another match this weekend, alright?" "Okay, Uncle Joey. Be safe tonight." "I will. You too." She changed in the locker room to her regular clothes that she bought and went to the front counter. She got her bet money and reward money. It was enough to pay this month's rent, groceries and clothes. She was so happy but, little did she know, a familiar boy was left with amazement from her match and was bewitched by her beauty. Wonder how this goes.
Next day, she was waking to school and saw a boy heading to her. Tall, dark, black-haired, green-eyed beauty he was. She stopped when he stood in front of her. "Hello, sir." "Heyo, my fair maiden." He got on one knee a and kissed her hand. She pulled out her hand back and looked at him as if he was insane. "What in the world gave you a right to kiss my hand ?" He smirked as he looked at her. "Maybe the fact that I know about your "night hobby". "Saw your match and I gotta say, you look pretty good in your getup. Your hair was adorable by the way." She glared at him. "Fine, what do you want from me ?" He chuckled slightly. "I wanna get to know you. Nothing more." She sighed heavily. "Why don't I give you money and we never talk again, sound good?" "I said I don't want money, I want you." He said, looking into her eyes with passion and joy. Her cheeks turned cherry red. She removed her offer off the table and looked away. "Well, we should continue heading for school. I am not gonna ruin my attendance over a boy like yourself." They both walked beside one another. He smiled at her and she didn't even look once. Oh, how young love starts.
