Chapter 17: Happy Birthday To You...

Today was Ash's and Destiny's Birthday; January 18th. I had hidden away the airplane tickets and the all day Magic Kingdom passes so neither of them would know.

I had also bought a little extra gift for the both of them: a sort of decoy before I brought out the real present. For Ashton, a new SnapBack that was green and black and for Destiny, a charm bracelet with a dance charm, a music note charm and a best friends charm.

When I woke up that morning I immediately changed into my favourite light blue sweater and jeans with my snow boots. Then I hopped into my car and drove to the nearby Publix.

I headed over to the bakery and told my name. The lady there was my coworker Jessi's sister in law, Peytin. She had brown almost black unlike Jessie's. Peytin smiled and went into the back of the bakery.

When she came back with the cake, I smiled as I saw it. The icing was a light blue, the same color as their eyes and the sticker on the box told me it was half chocolate and half vanilla.

I thanked Peytin for the cake before going to the register to pay for it. As I made my way back to the car, my cell rang. I checked the ID to see it was my Aunt Jackie.

I clicked the answer button and immediately heard 'Jazzy!' Being screamed by two little boys.

"Troy! Brice!" I said stifling my laughter "Did you guys steal Auntie Jackie's phone?"

Brice immediately said "It was Troy's idea!

"No!" Troy protested "It was yours!"

"It was yours!"

"Nu uh!"

"Uh hu!"

"Guys!" I finally said as I put the cake in the passenger side seat "I don't care! I'm not gonna yell at you!"

"Weally?" They asked in unison

"Really! Now, tell me what's been going on?"

Brice burst out laughing before saying "Troy likes a giwl!!!"

Troy huffed "I do not! She's just weally nice to me! She's my fwiend!"

"I believe you Troy!" I said, glad that my brothers had settled in alright.

I heard footsteps on the other side of the line then "Boys!!! Where are you? And where is my phone!"

"Bye Jazzy!!!" The boys yelled before hanging up. I smiled to myself. I missed them.

"And many more!!!!!" Jack and I sang obnoxiously.

We all burst out laughing before Ash and Destiny blew out their candles together. Jack and I applauded as they finished and opened their eyes.

"Hope you guys made a good wish." Jack said cutting into the cake.

They nodded as I asked "So where are Danny, Ross and Lance, again?"

"Went to California for vacation." Ash said, almost wistfully.

I kissed his cheek " Hey we'll go there one day." I said, handing him his chocolate piece of cake.

"Really?" He said, his eyes slightly glowing in hope.

"Sooner than you think." I wanted to say, but I just nodded my head before handing Destiny her piece of vanilla cake.

After we ate, Jack and I grabbed our gifts and set them on the kitchen counter. Destiny went first, opening my gift first.

She squealed before saying "Jasmine, I absolutely LOVE this!" She hugged me tight before saying "Thanks."
