Ricky's POV

I had my earphones in playing H.I.M at high volume, who gives a shit about my hearing. I never listen anyways.

Baby join me in death
Baby join me in death
Baby join me in death-" Were the lyrics blasting until my dad stopped the car. I jerked forward.

“Come on, Rick. This is your first practice with your new teammates." my dear dad said, I'm started to get annoyed by my dad only caring about hockey.

Hockey is great, but it gets tiring at times.

Tired I hop out of the car, my dad tossed me my bag. Completely unaware of the bag being thrown, it hits me, sending my small body onto the cement.

“Rick, this is why I want you to keep working out more often. You're still pretty weak and fragile. Plus it'd help if you'd actually pay attention more." my dad said then chuckled before shutting the car door. After he shut it, he sped off into the streets.

I sigh heading into the building, I hate being around so many people.

Suddenly I felt someone bump into me, I haven't really gotten to know anyone at my school. But I knew one of them was named Vinny. And that is exactly who walked straight at me, knocking us both down.

“Heh, sorry man. I was busy looking around and didn't look straight." Vinny said chuckling afterwards. “It's fine," I reply then flashed him a small smile.

“Come on dude, let's go get ready before we're late and have to stay longer for more shit." he rambled, I followed his lead as we headed into the building.

A few minutes later Vinny and I were quickly getting ready already left behind by all the others.

“Hey, so you're new guy Ricky right?" he blurted out breaking the silence. I finished strapping things on then nodded at his question. Obviously.

“Yep, I'm Ricky." I chuckle, he pats my shoulder then stood up to put his jersey on.

“Well Ricky, I'm Vinny and I believe we both go to Lakewood. I've tried approaching you, but you seem to be in your own little world most of the time." he said then sat back down. I smile, someone actually knows I exist.

“Hah, well you're talking to me now. I'm not a very social person, but I love talking. If that makes sense." I say looking at him, the first thing I notice is his adorable bushy eyebrows.

“Same, you know I'm kind of that loud kid in school that's well known but has no friends." he replies, I sympathetically smile.

“We can be friends, I guess?" I say questioningly. He grins, “I won't mind being friends with a guy like you, so sure why not?"

“MAURO! OLSON! HURRY UP!" our coach yells, we both groan then quickly finish getting everything on.

Ryan's POV

I was skating back and forth as my two friends Chris and Josh talk about this new guy Ricky whose actually pretty good at Hockey.

“So you guys know for sure he's here today?" I ask interrupting their ongoing conversation about this guy.

“Yeah, he's probably in there with Vinny right now." Josh answers, I chuckle and skate over toward them.

“Remember, I'm the best on this team and we all know that. So this Ricky guy can't be better than me. If he is, which I doubt. We'll have to do something." I say not as loud as we were talking before.

“Got it, Josh already has a scholarship and shit. So you're the next person who deserves it. I got music." Chris said, I nod and smile.

Suddenly, coach comes back with Vinny and I'm guessing the new guy Ricky. He's surprisingly a little smaller than Vinny, cute.

Ricky's POV

This coach seems like an asshole already though. I may be too quick to judge but this coach for sure has problems.

“Rick, come here for a couple minutes." coach said then made his way to the bench.

I slowly skate my way to the bench since the coach is very slow. Once we were both at the bench he gave me a paper.

“It's an honor to have an amazing player like you on my team! Here's the basic things you need to know. And since you were a little slow today, I'm gonna get Ryan to stay back with you. He's nice to new people so I'm sure you two will get along."
he says, I nod then slid the paper into my pocket.

“Now just go do a few quick drills."

An hour later...

I whimper getting slammed against the glass once again. Oh we're getting along great!

Falling to the ground Ryan quickly pulls me back up. I already know I'm probably going to get attacked again.

He's been body checking and shit for the past hour now I think. He says this will help me become a stronger player, bullshit. I'm thinking this is just for his entertainment.

I would've started a fight by now, but I have decided to keep a good reputation here. I had a very bad reputation back in Seattle...

I back up to the glass holding onto the edge tightly. Ryan skated close and stopped right in front of me. My body tensed, I back up and far as I could away from him.

“Scared?" he asked deviously smirking, I don't respond but stare directly at him. “Answer me, or else I'll make you do those stupid drills all over again."

“Uh, nope. You don't scare me one bit." I reply, he looks surprised then chuckles.

“I should intimidate you a little, Ricky." he says then skated away towards the benches. “You can leave now!"

I sigh in relief, quickly skating to the change rooms. That was torture. I'm for sure coming here early every practice from now on.

Remembering my dad had planned something for 9pm, I quickly jump off the ice. It was currently close to 8:30. Leaving only half an hour for me to get ready and run back to the house.

Rushing into the change room I trip, immediately making contact with the disgusting floor.
