I might as well say that although the chapters are short, there will be a lot of them. :) hoping to get better at my writing but hey, you do what you do with what you know :D

I was about to tell April, my best friend, the news but she was back in school. She goes to a school in the mountains.

She is the strong cliche,

black chick that you see in action movies with Shia Lebuf. We've been friends since, well, forever. Never been apart until about 6 months ago. She just got up and left to go to the school. I never bothered to know the name of the school. It never really mattered to me. But anyway, I texted her to meet me at her house when she had the time off school. It was kinda like a boarding school. Only you were allowed to text and they had some of the fastest cars because she was always on time. Never missed a minute. She is also really good at hide-and-seek. She always manages to jump out and scare me.

An hour later I was parked outside her house ( I had finally gotten my license), I went and got out of my purple car and knocked on the wooden door.

It creaked open. It wasn't locked? Thats weird. Its always locked. April's dad was always paranoid about safety. I pushed open the slightly ajar door to find something that could no longer be called a house. It looked more like an igloo.

Ice everywhere! Ice doesn't help my situation any better. OW! I fell. What a surprise. If I'm going to continue to narrate this story I think I better tell you that I'm clumsy and very much un-coordinated. So, being me, I slipped and fell on the ice. Being eye level with a frozen, clear, glass cabinet made me see something.

It was bright orange. Like a glowing ember. I was kneeling and about to pick up the ember when- Ow! My neck, ankle and hands started burning. What the hell? And at that point I fell unconscious.
