"What if I killed you?" were the first words to abruptly leave her unforgiving tongue. The male never let go of her hand despite the bone chilling question.

"What if I killed you?"

"I asked you first."

"I asked you second."

"Well you are the idiot holding hands with your strange neighbor."

"I like strange and besides wouldn't that make you an idiot as well?"

"What?"

"You haven't once attempted to let go."

They both flustered and lopsided grins overcame those tired faces of theirs though they wouldn't let each other see.

They wouldn't dare.

A perfect moment they would never forget.

They hadn't spoken properly since the curry event, which had occurred about three weeks prior to this new and memorizing moment.

"You're some kind of freak.." Her words shocked her, they were so timid and half hearted. She couldn't shake this.

"Thank you. I would hate to be normal."

They took a turn and she saw colors, waves of different, beautiful and unattainable shades from the busy lights and shine of the city.

A flash of cold, dark blue.

Jolting, she realized that amidst the blur, she could see the blue clearly.

The blue of his eyes.

She was in a trance until the bell from a cafe chimed. "Coffee?"

"Just sit down, Hisano." He spoke softly pointing towards a table before headed off to order some coffee in the middle of, for most, would be the beginning of the fast track night time.

She didn't need this.

Hisano didn't want saving. Why was she sitting at the table waiting so desperately?

She had to escape, run into the night and-

"Hisano..?.."

Her magenta eyes locked on those blue trap-like eyes.

The anxiety was fading fast.

Just from looking at that boy.

"I hope you like this." He sat down in front of her and she shrugged snatching her coffee for him.

Tipping back the warm cup, the hot liquid filled her mouth with a carmel mawkish type taste.

"Too sweet." She sneered though she didn't put the cup down.

"I can get you a-"

"No." Her hands wrapped around the cup and he couldn't help but notice the slight, unconscious smile she wore.

"You'll probably get something worse." She mumbled staring down at the cup more fondly than she realized.

The taste.

It was sweet and warm. It was mawkish but yet..

It felt right and calm like the blue soft storm of his eyes.

Maximus felt his face heat up and he coughed looking out the window, smiling uncontrollably, something he hadn't done in a long time.

Neither of their smiles were the way they use to be but for now?

The simple feeling was just right.

"Yeah, you're probably right."

It was bliss.

((I'm going to get to greater heights with the siblings and the side characters. I thought this was short but sweet chapter and I didn't want to go further yet. But don't worry! I'm going to stay with this!))
