NEXT MORNING

I wake up in Riley's bed. I go out to the kitchen to see if anybody is awake and to my surprise everyone was up except for Riley. Normally the Matthews' aren't up until noon on days that they have off. "Why are you guys up so early?" I say rubbing my eyes. I notice it's not just the Matthews it's my mom, Shawn, even Mr. Matthews' parents. "Good morning Maya" everyone said. "Good morning" I said confused. "Morning, Gramps. Hello, Grandma." I say to Mr. Matthews' parents. "Hello, Maya." They say hugging me. "What are all of you doing here?" I say still confused. " Josh. He's okay but he-" Mr. Matthews says before Topanga interrupts him to reassure him that it's okay. "When he got shot he hit his head in the fall. He's okay physically but he...umm... He doesn't remember anyone. He has. He has amnesia." He says, starting to cry. Honestly, I start to as well. I drop to the ground waiting for someone to come over to me. Finally someone does. It's my mom. She drapes over me with a hug. Shawn came down too. Riley finally woke up to the sound of my bauling. She didn't even know what the fuss was about but she came down to console me too. She gets up, greets everyone, and questions. Once the situation is explained she's down with me. We slowly make our way to each other. "Can we see him?" Riley asks them. "Yes, of course." They all said in unison. We immediately got dressed, did makeup, and got out the door in 15 minutes. I am really worried about him. The car ride there was dead silent. Once we got there Riley and I both swung open the car doors and ran into the hospital. We got to the desk and asked the lady who's name tag said 'Aniea' what room he was in. 683 was the room number (my aunt Katie chose the number). I looked at Riley and I grasped her hand. We walked together. When we got to the room we looked at each other one last time. "It's okay." I said to Riley.
