PROLOGUE:

The cold metal pressed against his skin, his handcuffs cutting into his skin, the knowledge that his end was near weighing him down. He tried to scream but no sound came out of his mouth. Fear and panic showing clearly on his face, the thought of his wife and his grandkids as he knew he would never see them again. The waves lapped up to his waist, he knew he didn’t have much time. He tugged at his bonds hoping one would come loose and set him free. But luck wasn’t on his side. It was never on his side.  He wanted to go out in a peaceful way, a more natural way. Not handcuffed to a sinking yaught. Under the hot Mediterranean sun, he could make out the silhouette of a woman crouching in the distance. With whatever little willpower he had left, he pleaded with her to call for help, but all she did was walk away. He knew he couldn’t hold on for long. Finally, after one last yank; he gave in, disappearing into the blue, never to be heard from again. The lady came back just in time to see the boat go under. She smiled as she started to make her way back. Her job was done.  Who would have known she was the mother of a ten year old boy.

''ADAM GET OUT OF THE CAR!"

"NO MOM! I'M NOT GOING TO LEAVE YOU HERE!"

"ADAM, GET OUT OF THE CAR, NOW!"

The car door opened, 14 year old Adam Roser stumbled out, "Wait, Dad? DAD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! YOU'RE GOING TO HIT MOM!"

Adam woke up in a cold sweat, the worst 25 seconds of his life replaying in his head...

Chapter 1

Adam's life wasn't what you would call normal. He'd gone through more than most 17 year olds would have at his age. His parents died in a car crash when he was 14, and things just spiralled out of control from there. He had a record, got into fight at school and was your average  high school delinquent. He was tall, with  brown hair and blue eyes that once shone with excitement at pretty much everything. He made decisions that he almost always regretted, and made choices that always landed him in trouble. He lived with his aunt Meredith, a 26 year old yoga instructor. He often wondered why; why was he so angry all the time? Why was he always the one to take the blame for everyone else's mistakes? And the biggest why of all, what did his parents kill each other?

*Flashback*

Adam was returning home from a typical school day. His mom picked him up and greeted him with a smile, as always. They followed the same routine everyday; get in the car, turn up the radio, drive back home wile headbanging to Metallica. But there was something different about that day. He could sense it, as if it were some sixth sense warning him, telling him that something was going to happen.
