There's water everywhere
It's coming in through the windows
Seeping through the walls
We all want to run.
We want to escape
"Do not move" they tell us
"Just stay where you are
It's dangerous if you move
So just stay where you are"
Don't they understand?
We'll die here if we don't moveWe have to get away
We need help
Someone
Anyone
Please come save us...
Everyone is terrified
So paralyzed by fear
Even if they wanted to
They couldn't get out of here
I hear people crying
Calling for their parents
Their brothers, or sisters
Their friends
Someone
Anyone
Please, come save us...
The water level is rising now
There's nowhere to go
Even if they let us move
There's nowhere to go
Time is running out for us now
Everything is swimming
Completely submerged
If we don't move
We'll be next
Someone
Anyone
Please, come save us...

Sewol
PoetryThis is a poem that I wrote about the sinking of the Korean ferry MV Sewol. I meant to post this on April 16th, which was the two year anniversary of the ferry sinking, but I didn't get the chance too. But, I felt like I should still share it anyway...
