Deep in a forest with tall trees lies a small village called Shingashina. Near the village lies a cave behind a waterfall. And within that cave, lives a dragon. At first the villagers lived in fear of the dragon. Leaving behind offerings next to the waterfall. Ranging from live livestock and jewelry to human sacrifices. But, by the next morning, every offering is returned back to the village. The people who were offered to the dragon says that the dragon told them that the dragon doesn't want the offerings. Only wanted to live in peace with them.
Baffled, the entire village decided to go and speak with the dragon themselves. When they met with the dragon, the dragon transformed to a half human, half dragon in front of them. The dragon introduced themselves as Eren Jaeger. Eventually, the villagers and Eren became friends. With the villagers no longer living in fear and Eren being the village's protector. The villagers even built a large shrine nearby for whatever Eren needs.
