MOUSES POV.

__________________________

Mouse was a little girl.

Just starting kindergarten.

She was so shy and short and was very scared that she wasn't gonna fit in.

Cause she never fits in.

She's always been so good at playing instruments and singing was like talking.

But she was so short she was a little bitty ant.

A ant with brilliant long, smooth, shimmering hair that touched the floor and swung like a little gold rope.

She had such blonde hair that it looked bleached, shimmering, almost blinding to look at directly.

So as she was walking into the big, old, brick castle, she was fighting the silver tears threatening to fall.

But, when she got into her classroom, a very wild, bouncy boy was up in her face, laughing and smiling.

"HI!" He yelled. "I'm Devan. What's your name?"

Crystal blue eyes met a emerald green eye and a eye the color of gold.

"Hello. I'm Mouse."

"Wow! What an amazingly fantastabulous name!"

The boy was incredibly tall for a five-year-old. Maybe...3'9-4'0. Tall.

Raven black, shaggy hair hung in his eyes. What a wonderful smile he had. He had a smile that could light up the universe!

It was huge! And beautiful! Like diamonds!

"What a wonderful smile you have."

"Why thanks miss! Let me see you smile. Like a real smile. Not that tiny thing!"

So I tried to smile.

"Here I'll help you." He made the silliest face I've ever seen!

I started giggling uncontrollably.

He took a tiny step back.

"Now that's a smile." He sighed. He said the words like they were breaths wings flying of his tongue.

I blushed and giggled.

"What beautiful eyes you have sir!"

"Thank ya ma'am. Your eyes though, now there's a color you couldn't even try to paint."

"Such the sap!"

"Awww shucks."

That was a wonderful first day.

7 years later.......

Devan is my best friend.

The boy that I met seven years ago with the smile that could light up the world.

Such a wonderful friend.

He's the sort of friend that's always there for you, when you need a shoulder to cry on, a person to high-five, or something...or someone to slap.

Such a brilliant friend.

The weird one...the kid with suspenders and a bow tie and the converse chucks. Ya that's him.

I've never seen a day he didn't wear those red chucks.

And even now when he's 5'8 and in 7th grade he's still wearing them.

He also has a hat, he doodled on it himself of course, always said "things aren't truly fabulous unless you make them yourself. And I'm sure you want to be fabulous!" Anyway the hat said..."Life is a play, so let's make every scene dramatic!"

Like I said such a fantabulous friend.

Soon it's gonna be summer.

Terrific.

I can't wait because this year we are going on a vacation together!

My parents and his parents and us! We're going to South Carolina.

Yay!

Just five more day!

Just five more days!

He sat at his desk, looking adorable in those giant glasses that made him look like the Blues Brothers. (I think I got that right XD the blues boys or brothers....ok whatever)

At the end of the day, my dear Devan came around looking for me. When he found me he said..."well jello my dear Mouse! And may I ask how your day was?"

"You may."

"How was your day?"

"Fantabulous. And yours?"

"Absolutely batteriffic."

See, I told you he loved making up words.

He also think superheroes are just so...flash-tastic and got me into them as well.

Since that first day in preschool.

Sometimes people say we were made for each other.

Sometimes they say we should part ways before we hurt each other. Jealous much?

We even wear matching necklaces.

Actually his is a chain with a key on it.

And mine have a heart shaped lock on it.

He has the key to my heart.

It makes me smile saying it.

It makes me so happy and warm inside. Like butterfly's have made their home in my stomach and heart. Their dancing and leaping and fluttering around! How joyful! How beautiful! How colorful!

So happy I am! I am!

To be able to say that Devan Flyaway is my best friend.

Mouse Stephanie Fortinburro is Devan Scott Flyaways best friend.

DEVANS POV

5 days later.....

She's so pretty, in her dark jeans and mouse hoodie. Her beautiful, floor length hair done in a neat braid.

Her hair, such a beautiful color. And so hard to explain. So blonde, almost white with beautiful golden strands here and there.

And the weirdest part about it was that there were strands of brown hair so dark it looked like chocolate was smeared in her hair...but it was so smooth. And beautiful.

And everything was natural.

So beautiful.

Always with those eyes...so blue there white orbs. Snowballs in her eyes glistening and sparkling.

So beautiful.

We were driving to South Carolina.

And it was very warm compared to the harsh, cold winters in New York.

The last couple winters have been pretty...really cold.

Terrific.

And really I don't mind.

More snow days.

Less school.

This week is gonna be terrific.
