Trapped!

I lay back to think of the tears,

that had been flowing non-stop over the past few years.

Feeling trapped like an animal in a cage,

trying to untangle all the mistakes form when I was sixteen years of age.

My mind felt bemused,

by the haters that overused.

The guilt of feeling like nothing was a shame,

but the ones who hurt me were just broken glasses of a frame.

I became the victim of their trap,

suffocating in a closed burlap.

Trying to escape from their gaze,

but it felt like a never-ending maze.

Agony filled my mind to know that I had been betrayed,

right then and there my heart had felt like a ticking grenade.

None of them were anything to me as of the painful dart,

that had naively been tearing my heart apart.

Days went by without any sunshine or moonlight,

and the place had felt like a basement full of dynamite.

Hatred filled my heart when I thought to forgive,

but I'm sure that I have moved on finally acknowledging what it means to outlive.
