Chap. 1

I grasped his hand firmly as we strolled together on our way to school. I knew how special he was and how lucky I was to have him. The air was thin and chilly. The streets of Wolverhampton were paved slick and I could barely walk without almost slipping onto my butt. Liam's strong grip reassured me to take careful steps. A gentle whisper of the cold January wind nipped at my nose as I turned my head to gaze at him. His hair was a shaggy light brown. It fell past his right eyebrow as it swept to the side of his adorable face. He reminded me of a puppy. His disposition tended to be a bit playful, yet wholeheartedly caring and loving. After a while, I found my arm entwined with his as the breezed picked up. His sinewy arm shifted to wrap around my shoulders as he could just tell what my body was feeling. We continued on without a word, but enjoyed the comfortable silence and sound of our boots walking perfectly in sync.

We arrived just in time as the bell went off and we kissed each other off to class. I was so content with my life at that moment that even science class wasn't even going to ruin my mood. All I imagined was seeing him. Liam Payne has been my boyfriend for about 5 months. I was a new student and we had English class together. He sat next to me and introduced himself in his perfect accent. I can remember it now."Hello there, Miss." He said as he cautiously took a seat next to me.

Shyly, I replied "Hi". But, he was not quite finished with me. "This is the first time I've seen you around here," he joked with a sly smile curving on his face.

"I'm new. I am a transfer student from Las Vegas in the United States".

"That is so cool! I've always wanted to travel to the United States."

"Yeah, my parents have been moved here to work on an international production of X Factor." His jaw might've hit the floor at that point because when I looked away from him for a second, I heard no sound. I turned quickly back in his direction and saw him just gaping at me. "You're parents are going to be on the set of X Factor?"

"Um, yes?"

"Well, I have been thinking of auditioning for that show!!"

"Wow, really? What do you do?"

"I like to sing."

"That's great, maybe one day, I'll get to hear you." He looked at me with intent as he was about to part his lips to sing a catchy song, but just then, the teacher walked in with a stack of papers in her arms, a stern look and bags under her eyes from late night grading. We all swiveled in our seats towards the front as the door slammed shut and Ms. Conner trudged over to her desk. Right before she could place her pile of paperwork on her table, she tripped over a cable to the projector and it went flying everywhere. It was raining English reports and graded work. After some of the blizzard of book reports settled I spotted Liam crouching right by Ms. Conner's desk, quickly retrieving her work for her. I just gazed at him as his chivalry shined in front of me. Afterwards, Ms. Conner couldn't help but smile and neither could I. Liam Payne was quite flawless and I couldn't stop thinking about him after that moment. Maybe a few weeks after many English classes, study periods, and occasional lunches together, Liam asked me on a date to Nando's. I quickly accepted and found out it was one of his favorite eateries. I had a great time with him and finally ended up being his girlfriend. It was the beginning of the best thing in my life.

Science class seemed to fly by and the next thing I knew, I was on my way to English class to enjoy my favorite subject with my favorite person. I arrived at the threshold of the hallway and Ms. Conner's English class and peered in. My eyes went directly to my usual spot on the left hand side to the middle-back of the classroom. To the left of my desk was a face I never got tired of seeing. He was smiling his lovely smile as I glided towards my seat. Before I could sit down, Liam pulled my seat out for me and kissed my cheek.

"Hello" J he whispered as he took his seat again.

"Hi there sir", I replied as I placed my jacket around the back of my chair. The rest of the students filed in as the passing time ticked away. Ms. Conner sauntered in with the same look as she did the first day I had seen her. The class quieted down, but I could hear a little melody escaping from Liam's lips. He was humming his favorite song "Cry Me a River" by Michael Buble. He has been humming it an awful lot recently. It seemed as if he was always rehearsing it.

The rest of my day seemed pretty much the same as it always is, but it seemed to swiftly pass by without harm. As the last period bell rang out loud, I wrapped up all my books, threw them in my backpack and slung it over my shoulder and pranced out the door. I walked until I burst through the front doors of the school and galloped down the steps to meet Liam at the bottom. He reached his hand out for me to grab and I bounced off the last step and we set out on our way toward home and the weekend.

We made it a couple blocks homeward bound when Liam broke the silence.

"Do we have any plans this weekend?"

"Not yet", I responded in a sweet voice that tried to hint my wanting to plan something. All Liam did was stare ahead as if he was thinking deeply about something.

"Remember when we met? How I said I wanted to try out for X Factor?" He questioned.

"Of course! How could I? I have heard your beautiful voice many times before and I know you'd be a shoe-in for that show." With those words, his eyes seemed to brighten and his face kind of perked up at my suggestion. That's when my brows started to furrow as I realized that that was what Liam was hinting towards for this weekend. He gazed at me curiously as if waiting for a response to question he didn't even ask. But, I knew what he wanted."Is that this weekend? I completely forgot. My parents don't keep me in the loop. But, I know that this is something that you really want, so I guess you can do it this weekend". He basically jumped and grabbed me. He hugged me with such aggression that his body heat was keeping me warmer than I was before. I decided to be joyous for his sake and joined in on his warming embrace.

Liam dropped me off on my porch. I leaned on the front door and he grabbed my waist to pull closer to his. I wrapped my arms around his neck and stared into his dark brown eyes that twinkled with excitement. He leaned in to tell me,

"I'm going to need your support tomorrow. I'll pick you up first thing in the morning". With that, he leaned further in to lock his moist lips, despite the crisp weather, with mine. His warm mouth pressed passionately against mine and I pulled his neck closer and tippy-toed to meet his face. When he finally pulled away and we opened our eyes, the sun was already setting and the lampposts began to flicker on.

"Oops!" he said as he pecked my cheek before bounding down my front steps onto the walkway to find his way home.

I stayed there a little while longer to see him jogging down the road and turn the corner to his house. I wistfully opened the door and entered my home. Without knowing it, as soon as I got up to my bedroom, I flung my backpack on the floor and crashed out on my bed to prepare for the exciting weekend to come. I had no idea that this weekend would change everything that has been making me happy for the past 5 months...
