Taylor's POV
I woke up on the 44th day from violent sounds of a storm. It was early, I'd say about 4am.Ashton shook me, trying to wake me up fully.
"Taylor, we have to go!" He said desperately. I wasn't in my proper senses.
Ashton finally figured that out and so he picked me up bridal-style and brought me to the boats, where everyone was.
He sat me down in a boat, I was still dizzy. I looked and saw that the boys had somehow attached the boats together with sticks.
They were finishing off, when suddenly the boat started moving more into the sea, starting to leave the others behind.
The boys ran and managed to get in, the first one helping the others.
We all managed to get into the double boat, me, Luke and Calum in one, Ashton and Michael in the other.
I finally came to my senses. We were in a storm, a pretty bad one, and we had to leave.
We had 4 rowing sticks, and had 2 on each side. Calum and Luke were rowing on our side, the right boat, while Michael and Ashton rowed on their side, the L left boat.
I started feeling sea sick, but I needed to calm myself down. I wasn't good at this, and usually Luke would help me calm down. But at this moment in time, he understandably couldn't.
After a while, I felt like I should help. But I didn't have a rowing stick. I dipped my hand into the water and started using that, but Ashton grabbed my hand from behind me.
"Don't do that!" He said, "Thanks for trying to help, but don't use your hand to do that."
I smiled a little. The boys were so caring about me. They didn't want anything bad to happen to me. As if they were all related to me and didn't want me to get hurt.
We kept going. The boys kept rowing.
We were going for about an hour. I turned around to see that the island wasn't in view. We'd completely left it behind.
My eyes widened as a thought hit me; had Calum left his locker back at the island?
I looked at Calum, and was relieved to see the same thin chain around his neck. He hadn't left it.
And this was probably the only time where I didn't care that I'd left my phone behind.
The storm suddenly got worse. The wind blew hard. The waves started crashing more and harder. It was all so loud and deafening.
"STAY ONTO THE BOATS!" I heard Michael's slightly muffled voice shout.
Before we knew it, the boats tipped over and I hit the freezing cold water, the boat inches above me.
Is this the end?
Horrifying thoughts flooded my mind as I started going deeper into the water. I felt something wrap around my wrist that started to pull me upwards.
I was slowly pulled to the surface. When my face finally touched air, I was breathing heavily, trying to catch my breath.
"Taylor, are you okay?" Michael asked me.
I nodded in response.
The other boys weren't too far either. They were trying to retrieve the boats.
"A boat's broken!" Ashton exclaimed.
"Shit." I heard Michael say under his breath.
"We're going to have to work with just one boat." Luke said.
